what type of gas do you run in your zx6r?

ive always put 93 octane in my bike and 87n in my car, yesterday i messed up and put 87 in my bike. exhaust seams to pop a little more when i left off the gas at high rpm in low gear, 10k or so. therews always been a little pop here and there but seams more now. anyone else experience this issue with low octane gas?

Cos I have the advancer in the bike I just run the 98 or the best where ever I am.. Try not to get mobil petrol cos last time I got a tank full it clogged 2 jets and ran like a pig

I fill up on 87 in the winter but 91 in summer, and nothing happenes, then again I use my bike to comute to work so dont really gun it, I read a article in the new SSB (super street bike) magazine page 68 they did a myth buster on if octane rating affects a new 2011 gsx r600, they used c16, 91, 89, 87 octane gas and a dyno, no problems at all and no knock, very good article recomend looking it up

You don't get any more power out of higher octane UNLESS you have a high high compression engine. In fact you get the most power running the lowest octane your bike was designed for (i.e. if you had a bike that was designed to run 89 and you run 91 you're only wasting money and a lossing smidge of power).
