Well, it depends on how you intend to do it.

1. There are extenders
Aside from needing a longer chain and possibly brake line extension for the rear brake, these are pretty basic as far as installs go.

2. Replacement with an extended swingarm

alot easier and cheaper with bolt on extensions, any yr model 98-02 zx6r, 03-04 zx6r, 00-03 zx9r, 00-05 zx12 will work, also u will need a longer chain and longer rear brake line, also its a good idea to use some locktight on the threads when u put the extensions on, here is a pic of my 04 636 extended

 

I would also be suggest that you use a rivet style masterlink and NOT a clip style.
