I assume the ad's that keep popping up are not limited to my account.

Being a supporting member from the first week I joined find them very annoying.

Either make this a supported only site or force those who don't support to be forced to view the ad's. But you can't have it both ways and expect happy campers.

I was going to reply earlier and kept getting busy server too...again. @capitalcrew, I've seen your idea of a new forum before and in the end it didn't work out. A different bike forum I was on years ago, where people got all butthurt because of the new management (I was part of those people too admittedly), so one of the guys started a new forum. There were a bunch of people that became members there but in the end only a handful that were active. It died off pretty quickly from inactivity because after a while most people ended up going back to the original forum and realized the new management wasn't all that bad. I could see the same thing happening here if you start a new forum. There will be a handful of people only (the Random BS chat regulars most likely) who will eventually get bored because the new forum will basically have just one thread, and that forum will die off too lol

I think sbk1198 is spot on, sadly. Forums are dying with people flocking to FB, reddit, twitter/instagram to share bite sized snippets of info/conversation. Most people today can't be bothered to actually get into comparatively deep discussions/exchange of information that historically has been the forte of online forums.

Even forums that have large active user bases, the vast majority of actual posting going on is drive by shitposting of little value. Look at this forum's most active thread for instance. Not saying that is necessarily a negative thing, i'm guilty of shitposting as well.

Add in the fact that interest in motorcycling continues to decline (in the USA at least) the idea of launching another forum to cater to a niche group with dwindling numbers that already has the choice of a hundred other forums seems like a losing proposition.

Aren’t all the main motorcycle forums owned by the same group now anyways? And forums won’t die but they’re definitely not as active as sites like reddit. Even Reddit isn’t what it used to be though. The Kawi Reddit is basically dead though
