New to this site.. did a quick search to see what people were paying OTD for a 13' 636, specifically non-ABS. (sorry if i didn't search hard enough!). Quick backround.. I just sold my Harley Iron883 (for an awesome price too) and am planning to dip my feet into the sportsbike waters, I know it'll be much more different, but I'm young now and want to try it out. After alot of researching, some opinions from experienced riders & checking them out and sitting on them, I'm pretty much locked in to the 13' zx6r.

First dealer I went to is saying $13,850 OTD. I plan on stopping at a another (suzuki pompton dealer as I know them in NJ) and seeing what they'll have to offer.

In short, what have you guys paid OTD for a 13' 636?

I know a dealership here in Colorado is doing 11350 plus tax, so you can find it under 12k depending what your tax is. If you're not entirely set on a '13 get a '12 as you can get a '12 for at 9k OTD or even under depending how well you can haggle

Wow, awesome Colorado prices haha, i'd be suprised to find one priced that low around here. Yeah, the '12 is outta the question, I want something that is more updated and won't feel bad that something new won't come out next year haha.

I got my white 2013 ZX-6R non-ABS for $10,578 out the door, all costs included. No joke. The local dealership's first offer was $12,500. You NEED to haggle. Remember, if they tell you a price, they can't take it back, but they can always lower it. If you say any price is too high, you can leave and come back the next day. Call up every dealer in your state and tell each one about your best drive-out offer so far. 20 minutes can save you $2,000. I also had to drive about 400 miles to Dallas, but I could have flown the bike back and still saved money. Use Capitalism to your advantage.

Thanks for the tips.. yeah, I think the first dealer i went to, Motorcycle Mall in Belleville isn't known to be so well. Atleast I know what high priced is now. Going to stop by another and work off the numbers you guys gave me. Hopefully soon (maybe by the end of the week!) I'll be one of you guys!

My mind is blown by this thread. It's not that I dont believe you, it's more that Im having difficulty understanding why a dealer would take such a deal, knowing the way they are over here.

I would be very interested in what people in California are paying for their new bikes. I have a pretty good deal of understanding the way things work when making such purchase, yet I still found it difficult for dealers to budge much even when I bought my '12, and that was only a few months ago.

I got mine for $11,122+Tax+DMV+BS fees, ended up being OTD for $12,349 which isn't bad considering we have one of the highest tax rates and this was in Feb when sales are slow...first place I went to wanted $15K OTD, I was like hell no!

Most of the dealerships I called up were hovering around $11,500 drive out. It was when I got the $10,500 that I stopped searching. Either you're right about things being different in Texas, or you guys have been getting royally screwed :suspect:

For sure we get screwed. I'm pretty sure the market for bikes is much larger here also, which drives up demand + cost.

I thought about buying a bike out of state, but then I wouldn't be able to properly register it here due to it not being a "California model", which means that it has to comply with California emissions.

alright, so looks like i found my place.. no BS from this salesperson, he was able to offer me 11,700 OTD. I'll be going back tomorrow to drop my downpayment. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be posting away on these boards!
