Well i got my bike today, and had the chance to ride it for 10 minutes.
Full yoshi RS5 & K&N filter. Will add a PCIII anytime i can (hopefully soon).

I haven't dyno'ed the bike either before or after the exhaust, but i can tell a few things just by riding it (and will be riding it even more).
First of all, theres much more power in the mid RPM. Second, the bike seems to run more linear than before. Third, with stock exhaust when i used to shut completely the throttle from mid/high rpm, the bike used to "clunk" as if the motor applied braking. Now this doesn't happen anymore (which is very nice). Also a few bangs when downshifting at high rpm occured which is fun. Overall im very pleased with the upgrade.

However i tend to be VERY sceptic about the figures and numbers exhaust companies release... If i had more money i would probably go for an Acrapovic full system, but...

Wishful thinking as in, i wish i will be able to get the bike around 115Hp...

Ok i was browsing through the yoshimura website and acrapovic site, and looking at some numbers you guys posted before.

Im puzzled...

First off, how much WHP does a stock '05 636 has?

Yoshi full system with insert says it produces 97.75 (im assuming WHP) which seems too little to me.
Is that without a "proper" filter (i.e. K&N) ?
How much would a K&N filter add? 1 - 2 WHP ??

I understand that with stock ECU or even with a PCIII, without proper adjustment, no real gains from a full system & filter can be seen.

But say i get the PCIII, and download the pre-tuned map for a yoshi full system.
What am i looking at? 10 WHP gain? :suspect:
So, full yoshi, K&N, PC3 = 110 WHP (see why i said wishful thinking for the 113 WHP?)

I don't get it how can the Acrapovic give 121 HP, or the 2 Bros system (with no filter) give 114.4. WHP. Thats why im suspicious. Thats why im also suspicious when i hear people telling me they got 130 WHP, with a full system, a filter and a PC3... (yes i've heard that many times).
EDIT: Just noticed that akrapovic website uses as stock WHP 115 (!!!) and with their full system 120 WHP. So a 5 WHP gain, which seems realistic, on a stock 115 WHP which seems unrealistic.

Unless yoshimura screwed up their numbers, i hope that their systems don't produce Less power (LOLOL).

Im not saying i want more power than 120WHP from my 636. Im not willing to pay alot of $$$ to open up the motor and start grinding gaskets, valves, etc,
But i would like to know where will my bike be with a usual "cheap" setup.
Sadly in this shitty place im stuck in there is no dyno center for bikes, and the ones for cars seem very unprofessional.

Sorry for my rant :p

I just dyno my 2011 zx6r with leo vince corsa r titanium full system + power commander 5 and what i got only 108.67 whp and significant increased on torque compare to the stock one.. Currently i got torque aroung 56 something.. Any idea?

My 07 put down 111 with just my 2bros slip on i think it had the k&n filter as well I made a post when I had it dynoed the if a pic on that thread as well.

all of the zx6r's besides the 2009 only have 47 horsepower. the 2009 has 600 horsepower.

Fuckin' please Hick. :p

Dirt bike bars & no fairings will put out over 768 hp going backwards. That's even BEFORE the purple powerband mod.

Bitches.

all dynos by magazines ive seen put the 07-08 around 97 hp stock, minus the jumper. with the jumper around 105 hp (and a higher peak rpm). with mods (exhaust and tune...air filter isnt going to make that much of a difference) youll see around 115 hp. for example my buddy in South Carolina, who has the same model and mods as i do, pulled 108 hp with a Yoshi slip on and Pinebox header (similar to MJS...a gutted stock header in other words). so, not much performance increase, but a slight decrease in weight, and more noise.

with a fully Yoshi exhaust....114.8 hp. keep in mind that at a different dyno, or different elevation, it would more than likely show different numbers. but all the numbers i posted were from the same bike on the same dyno...so at least theres 2 of the 3 variables out of the way. dont know the weather conditions though! haha

so just get a full exhaust...i wouldnt bother with a gutted stock header. Yoshi exhaust is fine, unless you just want to pay double for Akra or similar. ill admit, Akra stuff is NICE, great quality. but no more power than a Yoshi so not worth it to me. my Yoshi is pretty enough, and while not as light as an Akra system, it still looks purty! im also running the same PC map as my buddy...bike is awesome. oh, and we have our secondary butterflies removed as well and map tuned accordingly.
