I just ordered the M4 Street Slayer for my 2015 ZX6R. Wanted the M4GP but its just too damn loud. Hoping the Street Slayer is more tolerable :/ Worried that it will still be too loud. If not i may just get the Yoshi RS4 Carbon Fiber slip on for it. What are everyone elses choices or thoughts?

Next, you're going to ask what kind of oil to use, and then what tires to buy.....

The only advice I will offer on exhaust modifications is look into what is legal where you live, BEFORE you start making mods. Don't take word of mouth -- actually take the time to ask the right people.

The options are getting smaller, due to the public's perception of obnoxious noise.

VA has recently followed the national trend of declaring any aftermarket exhaust as illegal. This is where I got pinged..... I did not know that, and the person I bought the bike from ignored it. More fool me.

You should be able to look this up on the AMA website; I have to think they have a comprehensive list of exhaust laws by state.

If your state still has a maximum stated in dB, find a system that makes no more than that number. Easy peasy.

Don't try and guess as to what is 'good' or 'bad' -- waaayyy too subjective and impossible to defend. If Johnny law says you're too loud - you are too loud.

Replacing the can makes the bike lighter, may make it sound better, and will almost certainly NOT add any power-- not enough for you to notice.

Well I'm waiting on the 2 brothers M-2 silver series slip on exhaust. Supposed to be like 4.5 HP peak gain. I'm worried it will also be too loud. They do make the drop in silencers for $25...

If i got the yoshi i would get the regular chrome stainless steel one. The other carbon fiber one is a 135 dollars more for maybe 6 inches of the pipe to be covered in carbon fiber.... It's really a waste and not worth it to me..... The stainless yoshi only has the CF tip around it. And PA does have a law but as long as you aren't really riding like an asshole cops don't care. That applies for cars too. I know someone with a RLS pipe on his and he rides rather reckless and a lot of times cops wont even chase you if you take off. They can't keep up. Worst comes to worst i will return the M4 and get a yoshi pipe ive read the yoshi is quiet when you aren't really on it but screams when you open her up. Not sure haven't heard any in person. You tube vids are hard to go by.

What was rude? I apologize for the crack about tires and oil..... you'll prove me right or wrong on that, later.

As the rest of my post said, find out what is legal before you decide what you want to do so you only have to do it once.

Your choice.

I saw the M4GP is a hundred dollars less than the M2. Is it because I got the all carbon fiber M2? $405.... Not bad at all I guess. I haven't seen dyno charts for the M4GP

I actually just called and cancelled the order for the M4 i already know it will be loud. Maybe not as loud as the M4GP but still.... I may get the yoshi next season but i don't want to mess with any air/fuel ratios during the break in period of the bike. I was going to get the exhaust and just wait to put it on but i think i'm going to think longer on it and get myself some nice gear instead. Looking at the Icon Overlord jacket and the Icon chest and spine protector to wear underneath the jacket. Safety is more important to me. As of right now i wear a Snap On coat and for the summer it is just way too hot. Very tough material should i fall but i sweat something terrible in the summer time with it. And yes i would also get the PC5 for my bike if i did an exhaust swap and make sure to get a tune right after the exhaust goes on. I worked too hard and saved too long to risk damaging the motorcycle. i spent 11 grand on it. I won't take any shortcuts on any sort of maintenance. This is my dream bike and i will baby it forever.

Yes, the M4GP is VERY LOUD and while "loud" could be subjective, dBs don't lie. The SS is loud but much more tolerable. You will enjoy it, I'm sure.

Why ask everyones opinion after ordering something? And then why cancel the order?

This is 2015. If you cant google "x exhaust soundclip" or "y exhaust decibel rating" you have bigger problems than someone poking fun at your threads.

Ordered gear instead. I just need a little more time deciding on what pipe i want to get. Not to mention i couldn't find the silencer M4 claims to make for the Street slayer. Can't find it anywhere. I can find the M4 GP stage 2 silencer but not the one for the Street Slayer. I just don't want to mess with it till i get a power commander and can get a tune for the bike. Adding that stuff messes with the air ratios and back pressure. Those mods require proper tuning or you can cause damage to the engine. They run lean from the factory as is. I simply asked what fucking slip on to get for some opinions or other suggestions... I know how to do my oil and chain maintenance it was simply a curious thought. I'll just take this stuff to Facebook groups they don't act like this.... Idk what crawled up some of your asses and died but it was a simple question. Again, THAT IS WHAT FORUMS ARE FOR. DISCUSSIONS.

And for the comment about googling a video of exhaust sounds.... Not everyone records in 1440P resolution and if you think you tube videos are the best way to go about deciding how an exhaust sounds you are DELUSIONAL this may be 2015 but people sure as hell still record videos with potatoes...... I asked because some say it is not loud at all others say its too loud others say its tolerable others say its loud but not too bad so i figured i would get an opinion for people maybe riding the same bike as me but all you people do is get rude.

Don't be so sensitive. Loud is subjective. What you find as loud may not be loud to others and what others find to be loud may not be loud to you. With that said, the M4GP is the loudest (along with the 2 Brothers) slip on available for the current gen ZX6R so there's all you need to know about loudness of the pipe.

If you are super concerned with sound/loudness, go with the Akrapovic + slip-on set. Akrapovic mufflers come with silencers and they are not loud at low RPM/idling, so it's just fine for city/town riding. I recommend Akrapovic but I don't know the legality of it, that's for you to research.

Here is a sound clip of a full system + tuned 636.

This was recorded with a toaster instead, the potato was being used to make curry.

@ 2y4life have you looked up RLS exhausts? I had one on my ninja 300. FUCKING LOUD lol. Basically a voodoo or a Toce with a different tip styling. They are LOUD as hell haha. The M4GP by far looks the best but noise (to me) gets old. If i find some people to ride with here i can see what they have on their bikes. And the Akra slip on is well over 600 bucks.... Kinda out of my price range. Id like to keep it around the 400 mark. I may go back to the Street Slayer or the Yoshi. Just gonna finish breaking the bike in and see what I'm thinking next summer. I think i would have to get a Servo Buddy too wouldn't i for the servo delete?

Yes it comes with a stage 1 baffel, you can order the stage 2 separate.

I actually took the stage 1 baffel out of my exhaust and loved the way it sounded. To me, it didn't necessarily make it louder, just changed the tone (which sounded amazing)

I had a pinebox. That bitch was 98db at idle. When I opened it up you could hear me for miles..lol Yosh sound really good not loud more of a higher pitch sound. The 2bros sound like you woke up your grumpy papal from his martini nap.lol. I think in the USA due to EPA laws Federal laws it is illegal to modify any part of the exhaust system on anything including your freaking weed whacker.

I think i may end up with the Yoshi RS4 or the STANDARD M4 mount. I want a sporty sound but nothing obnoxious. I do leave early for work so i don't want to be obnoxious and here in the Hills of PA sound REALLY does travel lol My neighbors are good to me so i will respect them in return. Loud pipes are bad ass but its just not me per say.
