I'll contact my dealer today; I'll let you know what I was told.
I'm in Europe (Poland) but I'm assuming there's no major differences between the models, right? I mean, it is the same bike, no?
Also, does anyone have legal expertise with these things? I've read horror stories about KTM owners and how the dealerships just left people stranded...
Europe recall starts today

BMW had a rod bolt recall in 2012 on S1000RR. I promptly got my $1000 dollar deposit back and drove straight to the Kawasaki dealership and bought my Zx10r. Didn't like the idea of a new bike that had had open heart surgery before I ever got to ride it.

Oh but open heart surgery just means you get a unique heart (wink) 💁🏻‍♀️

Oh no. Not the smart way, how your dealer handled the situation. How will you act now? Let us know if they already have the parts, please 🙏🏻

Just had my recall last night. Spoke to local dealer - at the minute it seems the first step is they have the bike in for a 1 hour computer diagnostic session. Then send the findings over to kawasaki and await further replies. so chances are this is going to be a 2 step process on affected bikes. Just the first 50 minutes is for diagnostics.

My dealer said that the first check "identifies" if there is an issue by checking with torque and then they go from there.

Hey boys, quick update from Poland for those who still care:

Dealer confirmed my VIN is affected and they will pick-up the bike from my place (very nice of them, it has to be said - I live in the middle of nowhere far from the city) this Friday.

They will then diagnose the issue and take it from there. Let's see how long the entire thing will take...

What was the progress?
For me, living in Poland, the process was very smooth. The dealer came to pick up the bike, despite the fact that I’m in a rural area about half an hour from Kraków, and explained once again what was happening and how the process would work.

Three days later, they returned the bike, having found no issues.

I’m sure experiences vary in other parts of the world, but from my side, I can only speak positively about how Kawasaki handled the situation, as they should.

My bike was one of the few affected. Stopped ride was received on June 15th. Good thing I listened to the stop ride. My bikes been in the shop since July waiting on parts. Dealer said it was the first one in N CA they inspected that for sure had the issue. They said,” we can see a sliver of metal peeling away and you have metal in your pickups”. Bike had 3k commuting miles on it. Kawasaki refused to give me a new engine. Said,” we think we caught it before it did damage”. They are replacing the bushing only. 4 months and counting that my brand new bike is down. Sad outcome.
