I have 3 front sprockets.. Driven, Vortex, and OEM(order left to right). The current one on the bike was the Driven. I bought a new washer(was on order for 3 months), so I just took the front sprocket off and immediately noticed its wearing more on the inside portion of the teeth than the outside.. I then looked at the rear sprocket and noticed more wear on the inside than outside portion of the rear sprocket as well.
The vortex and OEM look pretty similar, aside from the OEM rubber. The lips look pretty damn close as far as thickness goes... The Driven is completely flat on the "inside" and has a lip on the logo side of the sprocket.
When I installed the Driven, I put the flat side on the inside and the logo with the lip facing outward. I was always told the logo goes to the outside and if the sprocket does have a flat side, the flat side goes to the inside...my buddy who was here when I installed it thought so too, so that's how I did it. I'm not sure anymore if my thinking was accurate... if I put the lip on the inside there is a big difference between how the sprockets sit, as you can see in the one picture. If I put the flat side on the inside, there is a small difference because the lips that the vortex has.. its raised off the counter ever so slightly no matter what side it's on, whereas the Driven sits flat. I need some opinions please!
