Bike does not start, help identify the issue.

Hello, so I posted here once before. I just got my 2003 zx6r this Friday. Its nice and orange has an aftermarket exhaust and a power commander. I am new to bikes so I have very limited knowledge.

Here is my issue: I drove the bike all day yesterday (about 80 miles) parked it in a garage over night. Today as I am turning my key into "on" position my oil light comes on and stays on (the red light with an oil pouring thingy picture), then when I hold the starter button my bike does not start, FI light starts blinking (what does FI mean?) and a clicking noise comes from under the main seat. I though that the noise could be happening from a blown fuse in some part of the bike so I started to explore. After few minutes of wrestling with the wires I found a solenoid that had 2 wires coming in from the right side and one leaving from the left, it also had a 30A fuse in it that was intact (the fuse cover was red, the only fuse with the red cover (I think its the master fuse or something)) Then I tried to turn on my bike again, and that solenoid started vibrating and making the same clicking noise...the bike remained lifeless.

Any ideas what this could be? I am thinking along the lines of a bad solenoid that needs replacement, or a low oil level (since the oil light was one for sometime) but I had no issues with oil level the night before and there were no leaks or anything of that sort.

I am pretty much lost, if anyone have any ideas please share, it would be very helpful.

Thank you.

Did you try and see if the battery is almost dead? Oh, and Im guessinf FI means Fuel Injection?

I'd have no clue except maybe battery problems, your FI light doesn't usually blink in that instance however. It won't be the oil, the oil light comes on when the ignition is turned on so don't worry about that.

I tried turning it on again and now the solenoid makes vibration pulses and FI light goes on in tandem with the vibration. Bad Solenoid?

Just because the lights come on doesn't necessarily mean the battery is good. It takes <10 amps to power your whole gauge cluster, and more than 100 to start the bike. You can check your oil level using the site glass on the right side of the engine, near your rear brake lever. Make sure the bike is standing up straight, either on a rear stand or balancing it while you're crouched down next to it.

The fact that the starter relay (not a solenoid, it's a relay) is clicking shows that it works.

Do you have an owners manual? There should be a troubleshooting guide in the back that will list most common reasons the bike will not start.

Is your side stand down and the bike in gear?
Is the side stand switch defective?
Is the battery charged enough to start the bike?
Is the bike equipped with a tip-over sensor?
If so, is that sensor defective, or shorted?
Is your kill switch in the off position?
Blown main fuse?

+1 on Battery.

Place a Voltmeter across the battery, anything sub approx 12.2 volts and its going to struggle kicking over.
