My first build. Bringing my 06 636 back from the dead.

Got started last night rebuilding my 636 after puttin her down back in August. Basically just got all the broken bullshit torn off and took a good look at what I had to work with. Fortunately nothing unexpected was discovered.

Here is how she started the night.

Ray lending a hand.

How she sits now. THIS is a naked bike!!

Some of the replacement bits.

Gonna get back on it today hopefully. Gonna start prepping body work for paint. More to come, including pics pics pics.

Then the X-Files being, looking like some kind of blue-green Jackie Chan with Isabella Rossellini lips and breath that reeked of vanilla Chig Champa,
did a slow-mo Matrix descent out of the butt end of the banana vessel and hovered above my bug-eyes, my gaping jaw, and my sweaty L. Ron Hubbard upper lip and all I could think was: "I hope Uncle Martin here doesn't notice that I pissed my fuckin' pants."

Nah, they're just strapped to the wall for storage.

Progress is slow right now, but gas company should have heat in the shop tomorrow morning which means I'll be able to spray the body work this week. I spent last night drilling out the original gas cap, cleaning rust off the tank since it was bare metal, and sanding the bodywork to prep for paint. Today I got my new stands from MJ motogear.com and they are effing sweet. So I spent a little time assembling them and filling a few dents in the gas tank. And that's where I am so far. Progress should really pick up once the shop is heated.

Ah. The great virgin build thread! SO happy to see ya on your feet & building away.

Mental note. I've been having a bad hair day. For 14 years.
