6 of the month

Well I tried last month and was up against a lot of great bikes, but I was thinking about it. I have been riding around a bit since the weather has been nice up here in the pacnorwest. I was riding home about a block from home and a kid stopped what he was doing and ran to the sidewalk to yell nice bike.

I was at albertsons picking up a movie at the red box and when I was walking up the the bike a guy poked his head out of his car and said nice bike.

Again in like the same weekend I went to run some errands and I get off the bike and hang the helmet on the hook start walking up to the store and a guy is smoking, I'm walking towards him and he said nice bike, have you mated it out yet.

This being said I don't want to take away from the 6 of the month I just think getting complements out while I'm out and about mean more than winning a title judged by other riders because we all have our likes and dislikes about certain years and fairing. I'm also not saying it wouldn't be cool to get 6 of the month just think these complements mean a little more.

It is nice but I wouldn't vote for it in 6otm....Purely because the paint work is pretty common now, I like bikes that are a little different.

It is very nice though and I'd definitely have one

Remember when you used to be able to ring someone 57 times and they'd never know it was you?

Yeah. Good times.

ya, you could pretty much ride any bike and get those compliments. i get 'em every day.

i like hearing "hey, were you riding at like.. midnight last night? you woke me up."

"loud pipes save lives" ...and cause sleep deprivation.

Not saying that it is special. Just saying I think something like that coming from a non rider community means more. Because like I said a lot of us have our preferences. I hadn't seen the fairings I got until I got on here I haven't seen them in my area so around here they are something different that everyone doesn't see.

I think it's the opposite because a rider knows what they're looking at. A non-rider sees a shiny bike and thinks it's nice cuz they don't have a bike. Someone who rides knows what it takes to have a nice bike and what makes it special. You have a very nice bike that looks well taken care of. There's a lot more that goes into a bike of the month than just that. My shit is completely different than any 636 I've seen and I rebuilt the damn thing after an accident with all new parts and I've only been nominated once and didn't come close to winning! But, that's how it goes.

I don't think it's a matter of "all you've done is monster fairings".. People dump thousands into their bike and you'd never see half of it in a photo. I think it's a combination of many things ranging from cleanliness to ratty lookin'. Bling to plain and simple. Even camera angles and backgrounds. I think you got yourself a nice bike there. Would I do that to mine? No. But that doesn't mean shit. I personally like the clean/plain look. But I've come across MANY bikes on here that I'd love to even be seen on. I love my 6.. I do whatever I can to keep her clean and sexy. But I still don't think it's 6OTM worthy.

I have not seen the white monster fairings in person yet. I got my graphics way back when they first came out. No one had them here. I only know two bikes that have them thus far here. I have Nismo graphics on my nissan. I'm a sticker kinda guy. I like plain jane too though. And everyone is modding there exhausts. Your different. Yours still looks stock. Be different! Some stock parts look more sleek on the 07-08. Modding aint everthing. Riding is.

Compdrag, I like it.

A compliment is the same from a biking community to the random person on the street corner. You build you bike for you not what other people think. If you enter into BOTM were its an open poll of course your gonna get the good with the bad. Not everyones taste is the same. I have the same fairings and I won on my first try. I think it does mean more to have the compliments come from the biking community however as all of us get the same ooohs and ahs when were out and about.

07 plasma red, Motion pro throttle, PC3, k&n air filter, Healtech X-tre, Sato racing rear sets,Pro Grip tank pads, Steering Damper, JT -1/0 sprockets, 12 0'clock labs DRD,Evo S slip on, Core Moto Brake lines, Traxxion Dynamics rear shims....

It is a great looking bike.
Id do two things to help it,
first white wheel tape,
& 2nd paint the cat black.
But that's just my two.
