Angry 1997 ZX6R cut out

Good day.

New to the Forum aswell as the ZX6R. i have been riding the bike constantly for about 3 weeks now and i have been having an issue which i can not explain and aslo baffles many bike friends.

when riding over a long distance and the throttle is open and bike is going there is not a single issue, when the throttle is closed also no issue and can accelerate up again without hesitation, however sometimes there is a slight (hesitation) on the bottom end but after that she goes like a bat out of hell, now here comes the issue, when pulling the throttle very slightly about 1cm while cruising on the freeway the bike sounds like there is a major misfire, if this happens for longer than 10 seconds and i dont accelerate or decelerate the bike cuts out and no matter how hard i try to kick start while moving and in gear the bike just wont start, if i catch it in time and i rev the bike to the limiter and keep it there for a second or so, she sometimes goes back to normal, but very seldom.

once the bike comes to a stop she wont start straight away but if left for a few minutes she starts back up and goes normally again.

could someone please try and give me some advice on this.

i tried my best to explain the situation, i know its difficult to understand as there is like 300 variations to what im explaining, but that is the baseline.

a simple sound that she makes just before she cuts out is a sound of predetonation

Hello and welcome!

How many miles has it been since the valves were checked/adjusted? If they need adjusting it could cause the starting issue you are describing.

First thing I would check is taking off the airbox and looking at ALL of the hose connections from the carb boots to their respective spots, the exhaust breather tubes and the vacuum valve fittings. If those are loose or connected improperly, she will not run quite right. It's an easy check and you very well might find cracks or rips in the hosing.

I tend to get things right on the secon... fourth attempt

After that you might want to sync the carbs at least
