where to buy discounted OEM parts???

Any suggestion on where to buy OEM parts online at a discounted price? I'm looking to purchase a replacement OEM fuel tank for my 2018 zx6r (matte silver) that was damaged during a thunderstorm. Strong wind blew my bike over and the tank landed on the footpeg of my buddy's bike. i was able to find one on Bikebandit.com for just under a thousand bucks ($985.95). Appreciate if anyone can point me to the right direction.

Follow on question..... do you have home owners or renters insurance? This is not a vehicular claim if you can prove it is storm damage. Even your vehicle insurance should have a different (much lower) deductible for that.

It happened outside my work place, so i filed under my motorcycle insurance. I tried to use act of god, but no luck with the insurance company in Mass. $500 deductible inst too bad, but it sucks regardless.

Thanks for the suggestion, partzilla has the tank for $100 less.

Not to point out the obvious but..........

A comprehensive claim is all this is, and if you have a $500 deductible and are using insurance who cares if the tank costs $600 or $6000?

of course I can understand if you could find one for less or damn near your deductible and not make any claim at all........but it sounds like you already made the claim, cost is mute at this point..........

woohoo we are having fun now
Stupid people say stupid things on the internet, so be wary of who those people are. If you solicit advice on the internet, just keep in mind 99% of what you'll receive is not based on fact or science-and likely atleast 95% of it is based on bullshit and bravado regurgitated from some other schlub who also did not experience any of what they claim and are also full of shit. If you don't like my bluntness- too bad. I am not here to please you, so move along, your approval is not desired nor is it needed. So before opening your pie hole and adding more stupidity, perhaps sit back, listen, absorb and learn something. You know that saying, it is better to remain silent and thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt!

If i can score a cheap tank and do the work myself, I wont have to pay $500 out of pocket. Simple...

Something similar happened to my 2015 few years back in the parking garage. lady bumped the bike and it hit the wall. tank had a huge dent. front cowling had a crack.

$2500 worth of damage. Had the bike for 2 weeks. I was hot. Called insurance. payed 500 deductible. tank price was about the same like yours $ 900 +

Bought all parts at bike bandit. they had a 10% discount for signing up. helped a bit. make sure you order a new tank pad and be careful when removing the hoses.

Easy repair

Obviously you will not find a NEW fuel tank for 50% off. It will be cheaper to do the insurance claim.
If you can score one used you might find a good deal, but on such a new bike that wont be easy.

Any tank from 13-18 should fit but Matte Silver might not be easy to find.

Id go with the $500 deductible and get it done...just my .02.

you have to buy used then, because a new tank with a retail of say $900 is still going to be dealer cost higher than $500
and what about any other parts
