I've held off on LED, because my '09 has already got the best lighting I have had on a motorcycle. My '14 Corolla has LED low beams. Very good pattern, very good lighting.
I can't envision how this bulb design would work properly in my '09 halogen projector. The emitters aren't occupying the same physical space as the halogen bulb filament. More area. The emitters have to be causing a lot of the light produced to be scattered outside of the intended pattern.:O
The way to do it right, is a projector conversion. Which means pulling the headlight assembly, baking it in the oven, opening the sealed headlamps, pulling the old projectors, installing new brackets and projectors, and then getting it all sealed up again. It’s a bit of work, but not terrible. I’d recommend getting a used headlight off eBay, just in case you bork the install. I picked mine up for about $100. All in, with tools, I spent about $600. I have better light coverage than most cars, and about ten times better than stock, and proper projectors with cut-offs, so I don’t blind incoming traffic.
Also, just a change in light color output, might make a if difference, if you don’t want to go whole hog on it. Sylvania? Makes some bulbs that are halogen, that change the light color closer to the whiter, less yellow end of the spectrum. Same power output, but seems brighter due to the color change.
Better get Phillips Diamond Vision bulbs and call it a day.
