So, while doing my fender eliminator and my integrated taillight. My check engine light popped up because one of the servo switches popped off the clip and when I went to test the twilight for left and right signals the CE light was on.
I have tried taking the battery off the terminals, and I have tried touching the positive and negative terminals together for 20 seconds to release the charge.
The dealership wants to charge me an hour to connect the machine to it and reset the code. (100$) how do I reset the code myself...
I suspect the '19+ models have CANBUS data systems, like many cars have. This would make it more difficult to alter lighting, and other electronic devices, as there is typically communication between the devices. Which may use the D.C. power wiring to do so......
Older setups are 'dumb'; they never notice changes. If the aftermarket hasn't changed their design to adapt to the new configuration, it is much more likely to have faults with the '19 that wouldn't show for previous years.
Maaaaan - I just did the same. Fender Eliminator & Integrated tail light from TST and I got an CE Light. I just ordered a Flasher Relay to see if that fixes the issue.

I'm about to be installing a yoshimura fender eliminator, I'm understanding that the stock rear light has led's, so am I correct to assume you don't need to put a resistor on for that integrated tail light, or led turn signals?
Yes, I picked it up from the dealer after my first service, the service manager told me that there was no way I could do it myself and I should just give him the 100$ to do it.
I promptly walked right out and went into the parking lot took my terminals off of the battery, touched them together for 20 seconds, hooked them back up, got on the bike. Rode for 20miles. Did the same thing when I stopped at this place, terminals off touch for 20mins, my bike then sat for about 2 hours and when I got back on and started it up the check engine light was gone.
TLDR: take terminals off, touch them together for 20secs, wait a couple hours. Tadaaa. Gotta make sure the reason your check Engine light popped is fixed though.

If he didn't say that and the owner was around he would be in a whole world of $#it. Employees are told to answer certain questions a certain way. It's usually the "you require our services" kind of way.
Stored codes can be cleared with a multifunction OBD2 reader. Can't remember if that's the 6 pin or 4 pin diagnostic plug on the 2019 and being on COVIDcation I can't just check one out at work. If someone could clarify 6 or 4 please do.
Anyways, if you pick up a $40 OBD2 reader (with CANBUS capabilities) from fleabay or spamazon and get an adapter to go from the OBD2 to the 4pin
Want to turn off your check engine light? This fits ALL Kawasaki 4 pin EFI diagnostic plugs. Simply use this adapter to take any generic OBD2 reader and plug it in to your bike. The diagnostic plug on your bike will look like pic 6 or pic 7 (pic 7 is the same plug, just with a dust cap on it)...

you can read and clear codes as much as you want. Real time data is a nice bonus. And it's still much less $$ than a single trip to the dealer.
Sold out of the 6 pin at the moment but they should be back up in a week or two.
All alright, so I pulled to the code - took some playing around. So on the 19 zx6r. you have to push both the Menu button & Reset button on the gauges to show the code. Got code 34 - I'm guessing I tested the turn signals before plugging the Servo back in. For now, I'm just going to ride it around with the CE until I buy an exhaust & servo buddy.
I got code 34 as well I turned on bike before installing servo buddy... videos I watched no one thought to mention that... im really hoping your solution works for me as well been 20 miles so far..
I had the same issue with the check engine light right after I installed my fender eliminator and two brothers exhaust. If you mess with the servo and butterfly valve you have to install
After I installed the Servo Buddy the check engine light turned off after about 100 miles. I also just installed TST integrated tail light and the check engine has not turned on. Hopefully this helps. I have a 2019 ZX6R with ABS.
Just installed TST integrated taillight, no issues and put about 200km after the install. I did install the relay from TST, maybe that helped. Good luck with the code!
It is not related but it might help to some. I am riding my bike on the track and what an idiot I reversed the front wheel when changing tires to rain tires on track. I started a bike and run couple of dozens of meters when dash went crazy, and was lit like a Christmas tree. I got all sorts of error codes. So I returned back, changed the wheel correctly and was riding one stint. The error codes and lights were still lit up. Then between stints was searching on the internet how to turn the error codes off, when you do not have cables and found a solution on ninja 400 forum, which of course works for 600 Ninjas as well, mine in 2019 ABS.
The procedure is the same, and here is the link to the topic and procedure as in the first post, and it works well.
I had two remaining error codes on my bike that I wanted to clear before getting my ECU re-flashed. So I re-fitted the OEM rear sprocket and fitted a 22ohm resistor in the connector where my pair valve used to plug in. With the cause of the faults sorted, I still needed to clear the codes and...
2016 Zx6r. Installed TST int tail light. Got CEL. Pressed menu and reset buttons together, yellow light in upper lft hand corner started flashing, turned key off, back on CEL was off...hmmm...jst thot some one wld like ta know
