Guys, I want to add a quickshifter to my ZX6R J2 carbed track bike. I spoke with a guy I know who at first mentioned a push & pull in the gear rod but when I said I would be leaving it in normal road shift he mentioned a road going quickshifter. I am not really sure what I'm looking at  so was hoping for some advise from you guys :smile

Standard shift pattern (1 down 5 up) would mean you need a push sensor on the shift rod

They work by setting a ignition cut time (something like .65milliseconds) when you apply enough pressure to the footpeg it'll cut spark long enough to relieve the pressure on the transmission to make the shift without too much excess wear

you either need to flash the ecu to accept one of the sensors or buy a piggyback system

Did you have one in mind?

Yeah, it sucks no one has reviews/recommendations but you are about 20 years too late and the heyday of the G/J model is long gone. Most people have these as cheap first 600's and nobody is really making/putting performance parts on them anymore.

Unfortunate since I love those bikes and the era has a powerful element of nostalgia for me, but we have to face the facts. Long live the 10 second couch.

*EDIT* check out healtech, seems to be popping up in numerous conversations when searching for carb'ed bike quickshifters.
