My thoughts after a good ride today

Got in a good ride today, maybe 2hrs, no aches or pains. Hate to even park the bike. I was thinking that coming from a CBR650F how smooth and good the handling and power, especially the power, feels on the 636. No knock to the 650F, good bike.

It's funny that when I first got my 650F I was scared to death to ride it home and of course I stalled it several times ...1st bike after MSF. Fast forward to 636, I couldn't wait to jump on it and ride it. What a difference time makes.

Lastly, for a Kawi Noob like me, I was thinking if this bike feels good stock with just a Yoshi slip-on, I can imagine how much better it would feel with a proper tune to really unleash it. Hmmmm, maybe a tune is in my future if nothing more than just curiosity.

Just my riding thoughts of the day.

I'm itching to get in a ride... Missouri weather is like a roller coaster. Yesterday was 60 but I had to work late into the night.. today I have free time but it's snowing out. So ready for spring and these lonely tires to hit the open road!

I had to go to PT today..... bunch of little women getting their aggression out on my shoulder, back, hips.... Went back home, showered, and hopped on the bike after gobbling some aspirin, and wrapping my shoulder in glue on pain patches.

an hour later I'm at work, on a 50 degree day. That got me to work at 10 AM, so I had to stick around to at least 6 PM to make the 8 hours..... left for home at 745 pm instead. Pretty much pitch black, but the roads were mainly clear so I enjoyed the night riding for once. Had to be in the high 50's on the way home, too. Very decent for mid February.

"Basic stuff fellas. Use your head for something other than to break your next fall."

Well I've been riding for over decades - I started when I was an embryo. I've been an MSF/Team Oregon MC instructor. I've raced - litre class sport bikes. I make two long distance trips/annum - each >2000-miles... Some years I only make one trip. A handful of years there have been no trips.

I grew up was at out in the country W of Calgary, AB. We have trail/enduro bikes & we had 3-wheelers & 4-wheelers, and we also had hay-burners, too.

I give you my some what protracted biography to give you an idea of my riding past.

My 2015 S.E. 636 is my 1st Middle-weight. My prior bikes we're all liter sport bikes, some I campaigned as raced with modest success. And I can say a Kawasaki Ninja 636 is all the bike you'll ever need.

My advice is: enroll in a track day/riding school a.s.a.p. If you really desire to be a safe rider, repeat every year.

BTW, I love my Yoshimura R-77.

I'm lucky and work from home and it sucks hearing motorcycles go by on a nice day when I'm stuck on calls. Only 32 days until Spring!!!

Does your pipe delete the catalytic converter, throw an K&N air filter in there and then either get an ECU flash or a Power Commander and then get it properly tuned. Makes the world of a difference. When I picked mine up it had an M4 slip on (deleted cat) with the base PCV map on it. It ran "ok", but after knowing how string engines run after tuning subarus for 8 years I knew it'd run better. After I got it tuned it was OH SO smoootthhh. Remember, not all about numbers (people seem to think just cause they have higher HP means their bike is running better LOL....#s are just for bragging rights), its about how strong the motor is running and how smooth the throttle response/power curve/AF ratio is.
Pull the trigger and do it, you won't be disappointed
