2013 + ZX6r UPGRADES - Let the Games Begin!!!

Hey guys,

I wanted to know what upgrades you've done to your bikes (2013+ ZX6r), and where did you get those parts?

I got a 2016 KRT last month. I want to change the following stock items -

1) Headlight bulbs with LED (or similar, without too much work) - just wanna change the bulbs.
2) Fender eliminator.
3) Tail light with the quick flash during braking.
4) Exhaust slip on.

That's it for now. Please share what you've done (PIX are always more than Welcome ) Thanks!

48 views and no responses?

I can only guess, most people have either older bikes or ride their bikes ALL Stock (although I don't see any stock bikes in public)

Don’t get a fender eliminator get a door hinge from Lowe’s and now you have a flip plate for your bike

M4 gp slip on

LEDGlow lights all over
$75 ecu tune
Green bar ends
Green swing arm spoils
Frame sliders
Tinted windshield
Battery tender quick connect
New head lights
Green ninja heel guards
Green clutch adjuster

Fender eliminator
Two brothers black series slip on (aluminum but I think I wanna get and akra or two brothers carbon or titanium) the polished aluminum just looks out of place
Vortex frame and bar end sliders
T. rex front axle sliders
Smoke double bubble windscreen
Rear spool sliders
I replaced the natural aluminum heel guards with black stock ones off a 2012. I have a 2013
Tech spec snakeskin tank pads. I have the 3 piece but want the 5 piece for the fairing pads

I want to....

Replace the brake and clutch levers to foldable/extendable ones
Install green steel braided brake lines
Replace the brake reservoirs
Replace the sprockets and chain
Get aftermarket fairings to preserve the OEM ones

Iím sure Iím missing some things but thatís the list for now

Niiice!!! And love the pic of your bike, btw!

1. What door hinge are you referring to that would fit on my bike? I think you need to do a lot more work (cables, switches, etc) to make a fiipable plate. I still wanna keep the rear turn signals, so I think I'll just get a fender eliminator kit from eBay.
2. What kind of headlight did you get? Very interested in this, stock lights are crap.
3. Did you have any issue/or needed additional changes to accommodate the M4 slip on? Or was it just plug and play without any harm/issues?
4. $75 ECU tune - why was that needed/what were the benefits gained by this?

Sorry for the questions - I'm new to this bike. Thanks for your help!!!

No pics of it on the 2018, but this is how it was on the 2013 for years. Had zero issues with law enforcement on the way it was mounted, even though it cant be seen from a normal angle from behind and had no light. Blinkers integrated into the taillight, with stop alert flash.

I hung a plate sideways once and got pulled over the first day for it specifically... on a dirt bike!

Well, I talked it up. Got stopped by an unmarked on the way home. He questioned the paper tag, but not the mounting of it 😂 never checked license, insurance, papers, or anything.

Pretty sure the header is some form of stainless steel......

I have the stock headlights, but am considering LED's/HID's. It's a pain either way though in my experience.

The eliminator I have is the R&G Tail Tidy with the LED signals.

My tail light is stock, haven't had a need to think about changing this so far.

My slip-on is the Akrapovic Carbon with the link pipe and non baffle. This looks and sounds amazing. My wife has just bought a Racefit Growler slip-on for hers and that is louder and also sounds brilliant. I can't decide which I prefer.
