Idiot speeding rider almost t-bones car...

What a moron. I like how about 90% of the comments on Youtube blame the car for pulling out. When in reality the car probably saw the rider but didn't expect him to be coming down the road so fast and expected to make it. Some people man... zero fucking respect for their lives and others

I find both at fault, the motorcycle was speeding, and the car just pulled out. Look twice before you pull out.

His speedometer looks to have peaked at 72/73 (blury) before he rolled off nd initiated the swerve. There aren't many other places in the country that have feeder roads besides Texas, and I can tell you those are 45-55 mph roads in almost every case. Give him at least a 10% leeway on actual speed to due miscalibration and he was traveling around 65 mph.

yep, riding much too fast for those roads, and at night too, when judging oncoming traffic distance is especially hard. Mostly his fault. He is very lucky he was able to dodge the car in time and that the car didn't continue to pull out at a faster rate. Could have been bad.

Yup, riding way too fast. As motorcyclists, we tend to always say "look for motorcyclists" but we often make it hard for them when we don't look out for them. Riding too fast is almost always a recipe for disaster. As bboy mentioned, when riding at those speeds, you see less and have even less time to react. He's lucky the car pulled out slowly because it it crept up a bit further, that guy was going to get a decent amount of air time and a lesson in gymnastics.

While it is everyone's responsibility to drive/ride safely and watch for everyone, I always say, and will stick by it, that we are the ones riding in the smaller, less safe mode of transportation so we must bear more responsibility. We know all it takes it one hit and we could be done so we better do our best to avoid that one hit.

It's a roadway that runs parallel to the freeway/highway. That rider was on a feeder road in the video. You notice the highway on his left at the beginning of the clip.

^Here in Quebec we call them 'Service Roads' or as we say in French 'Voie De Service' . Although our problem here is different; the speed limit on these service roads is too low on the island of Montreal. If the high way speed is 100km/h (62miles/hr), and the service road limit is 50km/h (31m/h) then you're either gonna have a bad time (merging on or off the highway), OR, the pigs will be giving you hefty tickets on a regular basis. They really need to raise the limits to 60km/h or even 70km/h on the service roads here.
