the weight you listed for the 04 is dry weight ( no fluids of any kind) and the weight for the 2010 is curb weight (full oil, water, and gas) so your power-to-weight ratio is off. But using power to weight ratio is a good measure for performance, obviously there's more but that is a large factor. So find the wet weight and power of both and you'll have a much more accurate number.

Also make sure you use the same type of power number for each bike, If one is WHP (wheel horse power) and the other BHP (brake or engine horse power) your numbers will be very inaccurate. It does however look like both the power numbers you listed are BHP so you should be fine, just get the we weight of the 04 and redo the math.
