I have a 2007 Kwai zx6r and I parked my bike in my garage and forgot to pull the key out (it was turned off all the way because my wheel was locked) and now my bike won't start! Is it a dead battery? I then charged it over night and the battery tender gave me a green light thinking in it was good but still wouldn't start. Any advice would help.

Batteries degrade over time. Especially when they are left in an uncharged state. They start to sulfide and cannot hold charges as well. Because of this, they may trick tenders into being fully charged, when in fact they are not.

You probably could jump start the bike or bump start the bike after letting it sit on the tender, but in all likelihood if that battery is more than 2 years old, it's shot. Get a new one and save yourself getting stranded somewhere.

Also, do not jumpstart a bike like you jumpstart a car. Research it. You can at the very least blow a fuse or cook a wiring harness and in worst case scenario, burn your bike to ground. A lot of people don't seem to understand there's a certain way to put jumper cables on and that bike and car batteries are not the same.

Doesn't crank at all. I have a new battery coming in on Saturday. I will double check all fuses when I put the new battery in. And yes it's been over 2 years since i last changed the battery. I'll update on Saturday. Thanks for the replies.manything else will help.

i know on my model if you lock the bars, there is an extra twist you can give the key which turns on the parking like or third eye light, if you left it like that it could have drained the battery, but it does sound like you need a new one if you are not getting any cranks.

I would always tests the battery before buying a new one. You can hook it up to a voltmeter and see if it holds a charge. You can also leave it hooked up when you try and start it, and watch the voltage to see if it has a large drop. My r6 would tell me it's charged, then when I turned the lights on and tried to start it the voltage would drop to 6. New battery fixed it
