Whats up with this M4 gp exhaust?

I currently have a Scorpion red power carbon fiber exhaust. It looks good, but it just doesn't have the rumble that I'm looking for in an exhaust. I've been shopping around and I've noticed that the M4 gp is really popular for zx6r's. Why is this so popular for zx6r owners? I know that it's a loud pipe, but are there any other advantages? I personally don't think it looks good. So I'm just wondering why so many people are buying this pipe?

It looks good, sounds good, and its cheap! Plus they also include a box of cookies for free!
Get the street slayer, not the GP mount. Trust me.

I definitely don't want the gp. I'm just wondering what makes it so popular on other bikes because I don't see anything that makes it appealing to me.

Well, what makes it appealing to everyone else is that it's cheaper than the folgers can 2 bros, eliminates the premuffler while some manufacturers keep it (like the over priced can you have right now), the location is appealing to those that don't want the can mounted on the side.

But yeah, who knows.. Maybe everyone is just drinking the koolaid and you're the cool guy that swims upstream :O

Cheaps, looks good, shaves off ~10lbs from stock. And it was short enough that my framesliders saved it in a lowside. And I think the most noticeable advantage it has is that it's cheaper than the other set ups; not many of us are doing it for performance gains, just something to get rid of the huge muffler.

Makes sense. It was a pretty unique pipe when it first came out too.
Cheappppppp. Side mount exhausts suck for crashes. Get something cheap, easy to replace. Sounds good and weight reduction and ease of install are also perks.

I got GP, thought it looks better than the slayer

If you want unique that sounds good go with racefit. I looked at the scorpion you have until I saw the price and the premuffler stays on the bike. No Bueno

Whatever I get I want it to be a relatively small canister so that I can remove the passenger pegs to give it a cleaner look. The new 2 bros exhausts that just came out look TOUGH in my opinion.

I'm with you by the way.....the M4 is sooooo hyped up on our bikes for some reason. Apparently they are extremely loud...and obviously cheap. But I am not digging it as far as style goes....

for example I am a huge two bro's fan but not on the 09-15 bikes....looks like the 650r exhaust which I do not like. Me myself...im probably gonna end up with the Yoshi Rs4 on my 12'...seems to compliment the bikes curves

I knew I wanted a shorty exhaust cause to me the long exhausts takes away from the bike it's aesthetics.

I do notice that nearly every zx6r I see has an m4 or graves, and nearly went with the werkes shorty to go a different route. But the price and the all black color choice of the m4 won me over.
I love the sound of the M4 but because of what everyone says about how loud it is I went with the Street Slayer and love it.

i got the GP, and i must say that i LOVE its sound without the tip. However it is LOUD... excessively loud. I think ill be running it with the stage 2 tip so my neighbors dont hate me when i get up to go to work at 4:30am.

What brought me to it initially was the low cost, and solid build.
I have the street slayer on my 10r and love it, so I'll be going with the street slayer again when its time for the 6r to make some noise
That's another perk of the m4. The fact that you can change between two different baffles or no baffle at all if you want to be obnoxious. The stage two baffle isn't much louder than stock and the stage one baffle is pretty loud but sounds "really" good!!!
I just ordered a M4 Street Slayer due to cost, appearance, and my local shop recommended them. The shop owner has an M4 on a GSXR he is building.

I chose the Street Slayer due to all the reviews that say the GP was too loud.

From what I can tell no one has had any issues with the M4s and they make decent power. I could not justify spending any more than I did for a street bike.
Two brothers is the best sounding IMO, but it cost a lot more. You get most of the same sound with the M4 so thats what most people get.

Personally im not fond of either. I had the two brothers and I ran it with the quiet insert but I'm pretty sure that was costing me on HP since the insert was nice and sooty black meaning it was restrictive enough to run rich. Also felt weaker on low to mid. Without the insert it was great, but my neighbors would hate me and coworkers would stare.
