Right now its more or less been gobbling up parts for the cheap off facebook/ebay, ive posted it on the 650r forums but damn if they arent inactive lol. More or less ive made a decision to part ways with one of my AR's in order to build a track bike. Luckily i have one sitting in the garage, the suspension is just worthless for my weight. Heres what i have so far:

03/04 Zx6r triple - upper off here from Evil Cupcake 30$, lower in good condition off ebay for 30$!
04/05 zx10r forks - off facebook for 250$, racetech gold valves, stock spring rate works for me.
08 cbr 1000rr monoblock calipers - ebay, 48$ with a damn near brand new ebc HH pads.
08 zx6r nissin master with steel braided galfers - facebook, for 100$
09 R1 rearshock - 50$ off ebay
21kg spring - 40$ off wera!

the front end is going to well sorted, i just have to send the r1 shock to have the new spring put on it, and have it re-valved, traxxion will do it for 250$ and bore the eyelets out to 12mm for me.

Over all at this time im sitting at 798$ for the parts and the cost of the bike was 800$, so im just left with tires which ill be buying for 168$ after dunlop rebate! So ill have a pretty about 2k sunk into it, but hopefully it will be a well sorted track bike :D

if i can sell this two brothers exhaust ill be using it to buy some chinese rearsets... $250 for knock offs....600$ fucking dollars for sato's lol or a racetail if i can find it for cheap.

Sweet...you give us all inspiration for track bike builds, keep it up!
thank you, i havent started to swap yet, just more or less been taking things apart, still waiting on the lower triple to get here today :) shouldnt take more then one afternoon. I want to convert the key ignition to a flip switch, but these bikes are usually used for racing, and if they are they are superstock, and the stock triple is used, so there isnt much in the way or tutorials on it :/

Looks sweet man. Nice build.
Thanks bud! Now I just need tires and a rear shock lol
I'm not sure how big of a tire you can put on the stock 650 rear rim. Here's a blog about an adaptor plate which lets you use a ZX6R wheel. You know, just in case you needed to spend more money.
I can run a 160 which would be fine I think
the actual characteristics off the bike are nice, i just hate the fact that unlike the SV, race parts are hard to come by. The cheapest rearsets i can get are 225$ on ebay because they come with passanger pegs to. ive tried to beg borrow and steal on this bike to get everything for the bottom dollar and thats not making it very easy lol. I thought i had a 21kg spring for the rear, and when people hear that number theyre like, 21k? wtf? no we dont have any springs that high anymore. Here try this progressive one.... which i dont want to do :(
You should be able to make an adapter plate to mount up just about any set of rearsets you want. Shouldn't be too hard to make. Look for rearsets with the largest range of adjustment so you can't get the best position. Might need to use the rear master off the bike the rearsets where designed for also. But that shouldn't be a huge issue either.

ill definitely look into that to, these were also a cheap option:
Black CNC Billet Adjustable Foot pegs KAWASAKI ER6N ER6F Ninja 650R 2009-2012 | eBay

but i the stock rearsets weight like 15lbs lol, would be nice to cut down on that.
All I know is I like this thread!!! Where there is a will to get on the track there is a way! Good for you man!

Thanks guys! its gonna be on the cheap, but i think it will be more then capable as a track day machine. Just gotta get over that tractor sounding exhaust :laugh

It's even worse when you are trailing a 600 on the track. Harmony to tractor/sewing machine every time they pull away.

should be a good time anyway, im just waiting on my caliper bolts to arrive, got em off ebay for 8$ lol. I think im just doing to use washers for 5mm spacers so i can run the 650r's 310mm rotors. I only see the brembo kit for sale for 35$ f-kin dollars.

Big brakes are mounted, Chinese levers in the mail, cant wait to get those axle spacers and test these out! Oh and i just used washers to get the space i need :laugh

Was thinking of selling this pipe to get one i liked better, but since the forks i got were 04RR's and not Zx10's like i was expecting ive got to get smaller rotors(yeah i tried spacers and had to run something like 12mm of spacer just to get the rotors not to drag my calipers), which means i had to buy some, given they were only 40$ but still. Anyway back on topic, i took about 2 1/2 inches off of it. I didnt want it to be to loud as JGP now has a DB limit, just shorted it a little because:
1. it was already pretty ****ed up.
2. its pretty easy.
3. its more ascetically pleasing to me.

Only took about an hour and half, and that was using a hacksaw for everything. Not professional, but i dont have a chop saw. Cut wasnt perfect but it was straight enough for me.
