What did you pay for you Zx6r?

i know this has probably been brought up before. But just wondering what everyone paid for their bike (non brand new) with and without mods. like i said in my introduction thread i picked up a 06 "special edition" Zx6r from a friend of mine with 22k on it for 3300. it has 2 brothers exhaust, flush mounts, integrated tail, flashed ECU, HIDS, lowered, has carbon fiber wrap, (i think it gives it a nice off set) stretched a tad with new chain, sprockets, and newer tires.

OP...you did NOT by any means get a "bad" deal. As a matter of fact I would go as far as to say you even got a "Good" deal. Maybe wouldn't call it a "Steal" but you did well! :bigthumb:

Don't forget...most of us (At least myself) who got the "Steals" generally needed to be "tweaked" to be in "good" condition...I happen to have gotten lucky in my cases an each time only ran me a $100 part.

Don't stress it...just enjoy that bad boy :devious

lol yeah i'm not a fan myself....but i thought it was a good deal so i went for it. Removing the graphics is an option...but i know how much of a pain that is(i had to remove a small section), so i guess it'll stay on until....
I had two different '01s that I bought specifically to fix up and sell - bought both for around $500 each and sold each of them relatively soon after getting them in good condition - sold one for about $2600 and one for about $2200

I used that money to buy my current '05 for $3200 and had a bunch some money left over from the first two bikes to fund the paint and mods that needed to happen on the new one

bought my j1 for $2600 with 18,000 miles, runs great just needed basic maintenance and a new fairing kit. still running strong with 22k on the OD
Bought my 07 with 11k miles, HIDs, Frame Sliders, integrated tail light and Akrapovic slip on for $3,600
I paid £200 for my 1997 ZX6R.

I swapped it for a BMW R 1100 S and then found out that the ZX6R had been an insurance write off which drastically devalued the bike, I spoke to former owner who I swapped with because I had specifically asked him if it was H.P.I clear and he told me as far as he knew it was, because I had problems with my account and couldn't H.P.I it myself, which I did later and found out.

The guy tried to blow it off but I told him that he could bring the BMW back to remedy it or pay something towards my loss, he chose the later :).
I got my 2011 6R in 2012 from a guy for $6000. It came with a hotbodies undertail and only had 250 miles on it. I thought it was a pretty good deal. I only have about 4000 miles on it now. I don't get to ride it as much as I'd like.
