transmission question

Hello everyone new here to the forum. Just purchased a 1993 zx6d i presume, ( first crotch rocket ) for $650.00 may sound cheap but i think the guy got over on me. Still trying to post pics. THe title has just a vin number no identifing #s zx6r, zx6d ect. On a positive note it doses run alas but the second gear is toast, and im down with that from what ive been reading here on the forum. My big question is there multiple trannys that will fit? Like zr7 or zr9s for example and what years? I know a parts book would help but dose anyone know from experience? Thx.
