:dowhat Wow. There hasn't been a tire thread in some time. I've heard no feedback as of recent on Q3+'S, Q4's, R11's or whatever new sticky stuff is out there. I have some B-Stone RS10's I'm throwing on my bike but looking to change to slicks.... (or whatever?) so what you runnin' out there? Reviews welcome :roll:.Tell me what you've got to say. [ I mean, it's not like us mortals can really push them to their limits anyway right?...]

That last sentence is so absolutely 100% true. Are any of us really being held up because our choice of tyre isn't able to cope with our other worldly talent? Especially road riders & I bet even a large percentage of track riders .

I remember Broc Parkes speaking after a FP session at the Philip Island MotoGP when he got a ride on the Tech 3 M1...he said he wasn't pushing hard enough to even make a comment on tyre performance.

For what it's worth I always fit Bridgestone RS 10's because they look good.

Sport rubber is so good these days it is hard to go wrong with most any of the major brands. For me they all provide more than enough grip for spirited street riding. For me the difference comes down to feel, feedback and how much confidence they inspire during cornering at deep lean angles.

Didnt they say in the reviews Q4 are still considered to be street while R11 is race? R11 is better use tirewarmers then?

I wanted to try Q4 as my I am about to chage Q3+

I'm running the Q3+, now I'm not really that fast, have done 5/6 track days total and I'm running in the middle of I group.
The Q3 plus has had really good life, my bike serves as a track bike and a commuter. I can get a couple track days and around 3000 miles it seems.
I did wear out a front at NYST this weekend. I did a two day on a track that is a heavy left hand turning track. The tire had about 1500 miles on it before the track, and I think I had around 140 miles at the track on it from this weekend (plus 1 or 2 other days, I can't remember). I could probably get another 500+ in commuting out of it...or riding a day on a right hand track. I have not had these tires slide out on me (except when it was a 50 degree day). I definitely am not good enough to push these tires to their limit, I will be trying the Q4 next though just for shits and giggles.

By the way I was talking with a guy riding Advanced this weekend, he was on a GSXR 600 running the Q3+, based on his lap times he was also pretty damn fast. He ran them without tire warmers as well, just let a one lap warm up put some heat into them.

The Dunlops are the cheapest. The R10s are sticky as FUCK, but don't last long at all, even at slower pace. I imagine the R11 is similar but no idea. RS ones are the street version. The R is the race version, even though they're all DOT rated. Pretty much exactly like the Pirelli Supercorsa SC (race) vs the SP (street). Totally different rubber compound. Haven't kept up on Michelins, so no idea what their tires are even called at this point lol

All in all, a bunch of blah blah blah....just get some Pirellis and call it good :D

Just about every ZX6 guy down here runs Pirelli's.. I went from Dunlop GPA DOTs, to a set of R10's that got worn out real fast on the rough Texas tracks down here.

Was very impressed with the S21s if anyone wants to skip warmers/still ride street occasionally. After Tally, Barber x2, and a couple open track days at my home track (MSRH) they still had a shit ton of tread on them until I sold the bike to HOE.

For me its about the deal that you can get
Old old former CMRA racer...not stupid fast by any means but ride ok
RS10's were only $225 new last year
SC2 V2 were only $310 new this year

I'm a dunlop Fan. The Org i enjoy riding with also has Dunlop support which is a plus. I'm on Q3+ Right now. Intermediate Pace. Track Only. Never slipped, good grip even on a cold morning at Barber. Will continue to be a Dunlop guy.

Strongly considering going with something like a Pilot Road 4-5 next for the zx6r so I can keep the freshly PCd rims looking nice.

I have RS10 on my GSXR. No problem with those. I have S21 on my ZX10 and 636. These tires seem like they just don't wear. I will report back after Sunday on how the S21 did at VIR.

Oh I see, those are the SPs same exact deal I got from riders discount the winter sale it was called I think. I thought you meant the race tires.

Yo! Also running the Q3+, and also from the Northeast. I've done three track days (1 NYST, 2 NJMP Thunderbolt) and have put on about 200 commuter miles. Running mid-intermediate, people more experienced than me seem to think I have 2-3 track days left. That said, my last day was in scorching heat at NJMP and I think I did more than a day's worth of damage.

Are you planning on commuting a lot on the Q4? If so, I'm really curious how they hold up, so keep me posted. I'd like to try them, but I live in NYC and work in North Jersey so if they can't hold up for a couple thousand commuter miles I feel like they are a bad investment.
