Came back from home to find my ZX6R gone from my condo space. On the video they were in and out in 3 minutes.
Purchased April 20ish 2015. Yes 1 month 2 weeks ago. Stolen with the bike cover on top.
1400km.
Canada Scarborough, Mc Cowen and Sheppard Area.
It feels like someone kidnapped my wife. man this sucks.
OUCH.....I can feel your pain man, these bikes are like your legs & arms, can't live without them. That really sucks man, people who live in condos are extremely vulnerable to get their bike stolen and this is why I will never live in one. I live in downtown Toronto, house, and my area is one of the safest around.
Fuck those no life thieves, if I ever encounter one on the act I'll beat them to a pulp.
sorry to hear about that man....hopefully you reported it to police so they have the tag and VIN in the system as stolen so if they come across it they'll know...hopefully you have insurance as well so you'll be able to get another one relatively soon
when i lived in an apartment..there was no fucking way i was keeping my bike outside for this very reason..i lived on the first floor so i literally walked my bike straight into my apartment..fit perfectly..when the management found it they put a stop to it so i got a storage unit for 80 bucks a month that was down the street...i would suggest one of those two options for your next bike man
unfortunately thieves are the lowest scum of the earth and will continue to do what they do until they fuck with the wrong person who puts a bullet through their fucking brain

I'm sorry for your loss. Check your insurance policies -- this may be covered by renter's/homeowner's insurance, as it was a property theft from your home, rather than a vehicle accident.
If someone wants your bike bad enough, there is nothing you will be able to do to stop them from taking it -- the trick is to make it more painful than some other option they may see.
Good generic cover, an alarm, a chain, difficulty to access.... those are first on the list. But they pale in comparison to having adequate insurance.

That does sound bad...I had my brand new CBR1000 taken (from an apartment parking lot) within 3 weeks of purchase back in 2006. I have kept the bike in a garage since then.
Just curious, did they walk away with the bike or did they physically pick it up and put it in a truck? I ask because I now park my bike in 1st gear (when I am out riding) to keep someone from walking off with it.
they definitely scouted it out before taking it. Or someone in the condo tipped the thief off.
Just a few questions: my roommate and I both have brand new bikes in my condo indoor parking spot on the 1st floor. Was your condo parking indoors?
I always lock my steering...my roommate asked me not to lock it so he could move my bike to get it out. He's too cheap to pay $70 a month for his own indoor parking spot for his BMW and motorcycle...anyways, I said I would not unlock my steering as there had been some petty thefts in the condo already and I want to do as much as possible to deter a thief.
I am now also thinking of putting my disc brake lock on the bike even when it is parked in the garage...does anybody think this will help more or at least be an added deterrent? I know that if they wanted to take the bike they could just lift it and put it in a van, and then take their time to cut the disc lock off, but maybe they'd see it and go for another bike instead.
I agree...A video would be good. Also like to hear if they recovered it and how the insurance worked out.
Have heard some in the UK work it out with the landlords to put in an anchor for a chain to deter the pick and grab which seems to be the preferred way to steal bikes.
Yeah anything happened with the bike or did you just get paid out from insurance ?
