What would you be putting in it every day? I use the Ogio Signature Series Redbull backpack to put my caliper lock, lunch and sometimes my laptop/iPad when I go to work, I love it, only con is that its kind of difficult to take off when wearing your leathers

Ogio is one of the top bag/backpack manufacturers. Yes it is a good brand. I've had backpacks, gear bags and golf club bags and all hold up great.

A* tech aero. Best of both worlds, it's a tank bag on the bike, then zips off to be a backpack.

I used one for commuting to work and could fit work clothes my laptop and assorted tools in there.

I have an Ogio Mach 5 which I purchased because the zipper is in the back, next to your back, so I believe it is one of the most waterresistant packs available, and has kept my stuff dry during some very unpleasant and very long rides in the rain.

OGIO No Drag Mach 5 Backpack - RevZilla

A good friend has the Kriega R25 backpack, which I think is the better pack; though no doubt it would not fare as well in an extended wet ride.

what brand though?
I have been using the Kriega R30 for almost two years..............FIVE DAYS A WEEK! It has a WATERPROOF center compartment that I keep my laptop in and it stays COMPLETELY dry in even the worst downpours. I ride 43 miles to work each way so when it rains I have to sit in it for 60 minutes or so on congested L.A. Freeways. I ride rain or shine.

This backpack is no joke. Was on the pricey side but worth every fucking penny. My wife has a Mach 5 and it's NOT of the same caliber as Kriega.

I can post a pic of my R30 if you'd like to see it's condition after two years of daily use.

I LOVE my Shoei pack. It has a part the clips in so you can carry your helmet on it.

Yep, and the way it distributes the weight is unlike ANY other motorcycle backpack on the market. The harness system is genius.
I have an alpinestar charger model i believe. I love it. it's waterproof. i been in a lowside with it. its great backpack.

I have an ogio all elements backpack and I love it. So far it's held up well, and I'm using it for my lunch and gym clothes. I like that it's water proof, and had a zip out liner that can hold a laptop and other effects. It also has a small zipper pocket on the front to put your wallet and phone for easy access without having to open the main compartment. Feels very secure while riding also.

How large is the R30 when packed full? Like how much can you fit in there if you needed to?

Also, how small can it sinch down with those straps if you don't need a lot of room?

Well the pack itself holds 30 liters which is the same as 8 gallons. It opens up so that the main compartment will hold my laptop, lunch, shoes, spare gloves, and my jeans and that's just the main compartment. I carry in the two exterior compartments my rainsuit in the lower one and my emergency tools, phone charger, camera, external hard-drive, and miscellaneous bits in the upper compartment. I would say the pack is about 85% full with all of this.

If you're not carrying much in the main compartment it will cinch down with the two side straps to be only a couple inches deep as opposed to its usual 8" - 10" deep.
