Rear Pad Issue

444 Views 7 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  jerryg951
So today I was putting my wheels back on the bike and when I was trying to put the rear tire on one of my rear brake pads popped out and now I can't get it to stay back inside of the caliper. I hear a click but as soon as I touch it or try to get the wheel back on it pops loose again. Any ideas or suggestions?

Can you take a picture looking INTO the caliper? There's definitely some trick to it that I had a problem with as well but I can't remember what I did to finally get it to stay in. I'm sure if I see a picture I'll remember.

There's something inside the caliper that gets moved out of place or something that's supposed to hold the pad in. It was a real pain in the ass and took me a while to get it. I think you have to make sure you hold the pads apart or make sure you push in the brake pistons or something like that.

Looks like the front just slid out of the caliper. Just gotta slide it back it.
I try to slide it in but it won't stay
If it's on the piston side you have to push the piston in.
So it working after I took my head out of my ass and realized the pad closest to the piston was getting stuck between the mounting bracket and pad assembly once I fixed that the pads slid into place.
Nice glad you got it man. Frustrations and mechanics never go well together.
