Raising the front end?

Question fellas. I can't seem to find any helpful information on the Google about raising the front of my home. Previous owner lowered it so I can see about 2 inches of the forks above the top triple. I can wrap my grain around how to raise the top triple but I'm confused about how to raise the bottom.

Does the distance between the top and bottom triple need to remain the same? If I raise the top 2 inches can the bottom triple stay where it is? It's seems as those angles woukd be compromised if they aren't property distance apart.

Any insight woukd be helpful!
Thanks.

You can't change the distance between the lower and top triple if that's what you're talking about. You'll need to loosen the pinch bolts on the forks/clip-ons and slide each fork tube down then retighten the pinch bolts.
Thanks 40 that's exactly what I needed to know. And I'm an idiot. Once u said that I gave it a closer look and I now see how it's designed so they stay the same distance apart.

I appreciate the response!

Make sure you are supporting the chassis, before you loosen all the triple clamps, LOL.

hmmmmm.......

your not changing the triple clamps, Its the forks that you want to move here.
Just be sure to move them both the same.....exactly the same.
Yea. It gave my some problems since I didn't have a good way to support the chassis but it got done. A piece of 2x4 and car jack were enough to keep it all supported.
I am actually trying to do this and having trouble finding a specific write up for it. Any help would be appreciated.

Here's a rundown on the 07-08. Should be pretty similar for newer models, at least for the front.

It makes me cry a little every time I see someone lowering a bike like that...

You raise and lower the front end by sliding the forks up and down through BOTH the upper and lower triples. In other words, it is the forks that are the moving variable while the triples are static.
