Hey, looking out for my buddy, who's steeping up from a ninaj 250 and found a really nice low mileage 09 ninja with 5,000 miles and a few very nice goodies. Dude agreed to take $5000 for it, is this a fair offer/price? Its got a few paint chips in the tank. Thanks!:sigh:

thats a good deal bro. can't complain for the price.
He came down from 6.3k to 5 real quick, i got a bit worried about that, we are going to go check it top to bottom tomorrow.
does it have a clean title? I'm assuming y'all did a vin check as well.
As others stated it is a good price, assuming everything checks out. Sounds a bit fishy that he would come down that much in without much argument/haggling

Check out the bike...could be something stupid (i.e. he tipped the bike in his driveway and saw his life flash before his eyes)

Or.....maybe someone told him his engine is about to blow because he rode without a helmet and heard the famous kawi CCT "click" and is now trying to "Dump" the bike :O

Of course....it could just be stolen...Check the bike, check the vins, if all seems shady walk, unless its for $1k :laugh
Yes, clean FL title, 1 registered owner all in Florida. Once I look at it, I'll be able to tell what the exact conditiin is, my friend is eager to get it, and makes it sound like its a show room condition, which I doubt.

Sounds like a good price to me and it may be in great shape. My buddy just found a '12 that an old man originally bought. The guy hated it and parked it for 3 years. mint condition cosmetically. Obviously needs a run through from sitting but had like 2k miles on it.
There were some brand new leftover 12's still around here selling brand new with warranty for under 8k

So 5k, If he came down like that on the phone........ cash in front of him for less would still likely work

and if it has paint chips on the tank--it sure as fuck aint showroom condition!

Look for all the obvious- especially crash damage that has been repaired
swingarm behind the driver pegs
bottom of fork tubes
rims straight
rotors flat
steering aligned
bar ends scratched or lever ends

you know the low hanging fruit easy to see, then go after the harder to see stuff

is the chain all rusty from the salt air? etc...
tire condition~ manufacture date
oil level and color
all the levers and throttle feel smooth and return quickly
adjustments to everything?
wiring basterdized with bullshit?
voltmeter on the battery- see what it reads before you even start it, how low it drops when you starting it, and what it reads for charging system output once running

bring a few tools with, even an air pressure gauge for the tires

then of course, you have to ride it

Those will give you a decent snapshot of how it was cared for and ridden

Sweet thanks. We will make sure to go over everything.
Sold my 07 with 14,000 miles for $4,000 lol jump on that deal!
Well I sold my 19 years old 256,000 mile 600 ninja for $3200, so by that standard this bike with 5k must be worth atleast 10k..........

OP--If I was going to help inspect negotiate the deal, I would be going in thinking 4.5k is my number and up or down from that based on what I see and the answers I get
Like I said brand new 12's for under 8k have been around here..... it is a 6 year old bike~ 5,000 miles or not- it is still 6 years old
With 6 year old tires lol
