Post up your Dyno results

Hey guys, I'm going to be getting a dyno tune in the next couple weeks I hope getting ready for track season. I'm curious to know the results/imporvements you guys and gals have had with your local/perfered tuner. How much HP/Tourq gains have you seen? Smoothness from throttle/response? Which fuel injection module are you using? Let me know and if you have charts, post them up...

Before I installed the Power Commander...waiting on a new header for custom tune. Instagram
Dyno numbers are only good as a source of comparison if done at the same time on the same dyno, so I'm sorry I don't have any before numbers, but...

My 09 had :

Full Akra system
K&N (not that it matters)
PCV
Blockoff Plates

My 09 put down :

131 / 52 (seems particularly high [off?])

The canned map from dynojet was pretty spot on in the full hrottle range, but it was off quite a bit (rich) during mid throttle through the whole RPM range. After the dyno tune the biggest difference I noticed was a huge gain in mid range for both power and throttle response.

Well that's incouraging. Do you feel that it was worth the $$ spent

That is a very generous dyno haha..131 hp is like a Supersport built engine. I have the same setup as you and mine only put down 112. Silky smooth though after the tune.
Sig for info.

dyno tune will make a huge difference with throttle response along with a few extra ponies.

What year bike?
What year bike?

09 zx6r flashed ecu, k&n filter, decatted header and m4 gp slipon. put down 109 on my tuners dyno.

I've got a yoshi full exhaust, bazzaz zfi-tc now so when i go back i'll post up what my power was on my bike. i'm hoping for a fat mid and lots up top somewhere around 115whp.
What is a good price?
I have the same bike you have. 120+hp is extremely good for the 07/08. Care to elaborate a little bit on how you got there? Did you play with ignition timing at all? And are you running pump or race gas?

I assume you are talking about for dyno tuning?
$200-$300 IMO is a good price. Worth every penny.

Those dyno numbers do seem artificially high. I would guess they'd be in the mid 120s on a more accurate dyno. The bike does seem to make more power than other 09-12s, but I also broke it in extremely hard.

However - to answer your question - no, I would not get another dynotune. After I had mine tuned, I bought an autotune. It basically does the same thing in a roundabout way. Plus, you can always re-tune for free for weather, future mods, different riding habits, etc etc.

That's what I would advise you to do.

Agreed. Omar's 2013 put down ~ 126 / 50ish with the same mods as me - full exhaust / filter / blockoff plates / PCV.

Whenever he talks crap about my bike because it doesn't have the 636cc, I tell him we should compare dyno charts

Talking peak numbers is so subjective as almost all are on different dynos in different parts of the world so it really tells us nothing. The way to compare is by looking at the gains over stock.

Initially my bike made 103, once tuned with a gutted header and M4 GP I gained 9hp and made 112. I then added the kit ECU and jumped to 119 by just plugging it in and running the default settings. I should note that at this time I also switched from PCV to Bazzaz ZFI-TC. Switching from the gutted header to the Akrapovic full system netted me another 2hp and smoothed out my power delivery considerably to end up at 121hp, overall I gained 18hp over stock.

I have made other changes since then but the tuning was done on another dyno so I won't include those numbers in this breakdown but here is a link to a vid of the tuning. All my mods are in my signature as well as a link to my thread, all the dyno charts are posted there already.

my tuner was very surprised that my 600 made 120 hp on pump gas.

stock motor
ram air mod
block off plates
bmc race filter
akrapovic full exhaust
ecu unleashed flash
pcv

no special secret on how i made the power, couple of bolt on mods and a dyno tune.

probably next year im going to switch out the pcv with bazzaz fi qs tc and tune with pump and race fuel. maybe change velocity stacks

2013 with zero miles so the motor was very tight still. Also still running the heavy OEM tire and whatever crappy gas came from the factory in it.

Bazzaz Z-Fi-Tc
Full M4 GP exhaust
BMC Race air filter

I would expect to be in the low 20's right now, and once the head is back on, cams degree'd, and timing set I am hoping for upper 20's. We shall see.

These bikes trail off at the top end of their rev range and want to be short shifted around 13.5k (actual) which shows as 14.5 on the tach.

So the tach is off as bad as the speedo?
Akrapovic slip-on
K&N air filter
Block off plates
PCIII

First pull was a downloaded map I went in with.
Second pull was the custom tune.

Same day on both pulls with about an hour in between with similar temps and humidity.

9% increase in power with a smoother throttle and better response was well worth the $350 I payed in my opinion.

Also, gas light went from coming on at ~80 miles to ~115 (city driving).

After I get my header put on I think I'm gonna have to look into that ecu flash. Did it raise the rev limiter also?

bazzaz is so much nicer. i just finished installing my zfi-tc on my track bike. can't wait to ride it, i went down the block and was amazed how awesome the qs is
