So I just bought a set of used 2008 rotors to throw on my 2006. I know that both rotors are 310mm in diameter, so I figured it was a straight swap.

One thing I just realized, though, was that the hat of my 2006 rotors denotes 5mm while the hat of the newer rotors denotes 5.5mm.

I am assuming this isn't a major issue, but is there any shimming I need to be concerned with? When I pull off the 06 rotors, should I reuse the factory shim that is in between the rotors and wheel?

Also either shave the rotors or swap the caliper. And yes you can use the same shim

I have two different styles on my bike (5mm and 5.5mm). No issues.
Thanks dude, figured it would be fine, just wanted some reassurance. I had read many threads about rotor, wheel, caliper, etc. compatibility but only after buying these later model rotors became aware of the small thickness difference.

Ill swap them in direct and be off to the races...literally :)
