I recently bought a MotionPro throttle and unfortunately when I went to install this weekend, I found that the OEM clip on is about 1/2" too short to accommodate the new throttle tube. So, its time to get an aftermarket set.

I figure I will go with a set of Woodcraft, Renthal, or Vortex as you can almost always find replacement tubes for these brands at the track in the case of a crash. Not to mention, the tubes are interchangeable which makes things even easier.

I did a little searching and found a variety of things, but didn't get the exact answer I was looking for. I want to know what the downward angle of the OEM clip on is as I would like to replicate that with my new ones. I see that most aftermarket brands are available either with 0 degrees, or somewhere between the 6-9 degree range. Apex offers a nice adjustable clip on, but they are more expensive and will be harder to find replacement tubes at the track.

I can't answer your question but I just put a set of Renthal clip-ons on my '07. The angle looks almost identical when I hold them side by side. I have a little bit of interference between the fairing and the throttle cable right now. I tried to duplicate the stock throttle housing clocking when I put it back together. I need to clock it so the cables come out differently. Won't be as much of an issue for you since you won't have to drill the locating hole for the throttle housing.

Thanks. I just verified that both Vortex and Renthal clip ons are 7 degree downward angle. So if you are saying it is close or identical to stock, that is really all I am looking for.

I like that Renthal has tick marks on the clip on piece as that will make it easier to get both sides installed identically. Both Renthal AND Vortex have tick marks on the tubes to assist with installation as well.

The tick marks are great in theory not in practice. Once they are on below the top triple clamp you can no longer see them much at all.
Fair point, but I figure I will line them up before actually installing them and pick a point of reference on the upper triple and the corresponding tick mark on the clip on that works best.
