whats up guys.... I got a 03 ZX6R with OEM 15/40 sprockets and 108 chain links. I just bought a new -1/+2 sprockets and it came with 110 chain link plus a master link from Sprocket Center. I was wondering if the 110 chain link is correct or should i take 2 off to bring it back down to 108? :O

once you install the chain on the sprockets you will see how many links you need to remove.
don't do anything before that.

zip tie both sides of the open chain to the rear sprocket, put bike in gear and rotate tire until it locks, hold tire there when grinding down the pins on the link that will cut the chain to the correct length. also make sure your chain adjustment is loose and all the way forward on the swingarm.

measure thrice, cut once. you only got 1 master link supplied with the chain and unless you kept some spare master links you're in trouble.

Also make sure you properly rivet the master link close once installed. best case you got a chain riveting tool, otherwise get inventive with the help of a friend to hold things in place.
Since you have all the parts in front of you, assemble it and measure it as Lean2 suggests. Generally, -1/+2 should keep the stock chain length. But since your not ordering precut, measure it and cut it on the bike.
Dam. I already put everything together. I guess I have to buy another master link and cut the links later.

Do you guys think it'll be fine to ride with 110 for now?
You should be fine with the 110 links for now as long as the slack is adjusted right.

If you have a chain break tool you can also remove links with that. Thats what I used to remove links on my buddies Katana. Makes it a little easier. Also you can go to pretty much any motorcycle shop and pick up/order a new master link. Should run between $6-$11.

You cannot install a chain if it's in a close loop already.
why make it so much harder if you just need to cut the old chain, zip tie connect the old with the new chain, run through all the way and then replace sprockets and ultimately rivet the chain together after you determined the right length.

Go on youtube and watch some how to videos!
