Hi,

I've a 2001 ZX6 (J1) with 22000m on the clock, so by now the original rear shock should be well past it.

Is it worth having it rebuilt (and by whom - in the East Midlands area ?) or would a new shock be a better option ? (I've been looking at the Hagon range).

I'm looking at a budget of about £250-£300.

Any recommendations appreciated!

Try Maxton. I had a quote for a complete rebuild with the shock set up specifically for my weight and riding style, about £150.

Same as Dale £150 + VAT from Maxton and they match the spring to your weight, I had front and rears done and the difference is amazing, worth the money.

Send it to Catalyst Reaction Tuning in California.
It's run by an English fella called Dave Moss who is well known on the British club (and maybe pro) racing scene.
They just rebuilt my front forks for $120 (£60).
At the prices they charge it would probably still be cheaper inc the shipping charges.
