My temperature display has gone crazy

Hey guys,

I adjusted my cam chain a week ago. A couple of days later my temperature display is displaying half numbers and random shapes that are not even numbers.

It flits and changes from actual reading to indecipherable things.

I washed the bike with a jet wash and it's been raining a lot.

I took the clocks apart and got the moisture out but it's still the same.

Any ideas?

Sell it to a predator...?

In all seriousness though I'm not sure what can be done...sure some others will though if a fix is possible else may require a new clock cluster

Treat the instrument cluster like you would treat a phone you dropped in the tub. Pull the cluster off the bike, and put it inside a zip lock bag full of dried rice for a few days. Hopefully the remaining moisture will be pulled out of the unit, and that sorts you out.

I'd personally go through all of the electrical connectors with a can of compressed air, and blow them all dry. Then I'd repack them with dilectric grease to prevent water penetration in the future.
