So My 2015 zx6r is leaking/releasing what looks like a Milky fluid in the lower porting of the right side. The liquid is directly underneath a hose that after a quick look seems to be connected to the coolant reservoir (I haven't looked too deep yet).

It has happened both times I have been on the track. I have not noticed it on the street. Every time I take a look the liquitld is already dry and leaves kind of a white powdery residue/trail.

Any help on how to identify the problem (if any) and/or where to start? I'll leave a picture. Unfortunately I don't have a better one since my buddy wiped the bike down before I could take a picture.

Any loss of liquid - especially on the track - is a big problem, and unsafe for you and the other riders. You shouldn’t be riding the bike (at least on the track) until you get this figured out. What does your oil look like in the sight glass? Is it “milky”? What kind of coolant are you using? Definitely need to strip the bike down and inspect.

I totally agree. I had to stop the day early because of it. The oil looks dark orange I would say and the oil level is at the top.

I can't really work on the bike this month. I might have to take it to am actual mechanic . I was hoping someone over here can point out a "most likely"

It's just the residue that's left after it dries off. The green OEM one does that. I actually went and dug up some pics of my first TD with the zx6r. I had to keep wiping it off after every session. :lol:

Yeah! Exactly that. I saw Nother guy at the track that told me he had the same issue with his zx6r but never found out exactly what it was.

Do you think that replacing the cap would solve the issue? It seems to all dry on the bike and I can continue wiping it after each session but It kind of makes me uncomfortable.

I came home today and took the cap off to see if I see anything totally wrong but everything seemed fine. I got the bike all the way to 225 degree but I couldn't replicate it. The coolant came from exactly in the middle of low and full to the full line.

Its fine. Just residue from the dried off coolant from the overflow tank. Might be able to prevent it if there's still air in the system and you burp it but it's not an issue.

I didn't get it with Engine Ice. Now using water and Hy-per cool with no issue.

A new genuine Kawa cap is your first thing to try. A Stant one is also an option but the one i bought didnt fit properly - and the tuner i use over here told me to go buy OEM.

IIRC correct they have changed the part number since the bike was new.

I wonder if using the 2.0 bar Graves radiator cap would be beneficial to prevent boiling over/ excess overflow but not sure if it'll cause any long term damage by raising the pressure that much. I'm sure it doesn't make a difference to them since they rebuild their race motors often but most people wont. It's what they use on their zx6r and zx10r builds.

I wouldn't immediately jump to a 2.0 bar cap......... you can get a 1.3 or even 1.6

many bikes now come standard with a 1.3

That’s great to hear. There must be a defect in your 1.1 bar cap cause mine doesn’t do what yours does.

How much did you spend to get that cap? Bikebandit.com was like $40-50 plus shipping; seems a bit outrageous.
