hey guys I'm new to the forum and I just posted a thread on the marketplace but I figured it might be better if I post it on the West Coast region since I'm in orange county, ca. Anyway I'm looking to buy a 2005-2008 zx6r. any color except black and silver. Preferably less thank 20k miles and in good condition. let me know guys i'm a serious buyer and wants to start riding again.

Sorry in advance to admins if i'm posting this on a wrong thread.

I have a well set up track bike but it has street papers and lights as well. Unfortunately it is Black. It has approx 5,000 miles.

Street or track bike? I assume street...
Street. I looked at an 08 last week with less than 15k miles on it, oem fairings but there's a fork seal leak, will need rear tire and needs valve adjustment as well. he wants $4000 for it. Is it worth it?

Yeah sorry we just have so much bad luck on black cars/motorcycles that's why I'm staying away from that color. Thanks though.

Prices are different everywhere in the country, but I wouldn't buy that bike myself, no. The fork seal is not a huge deal, tires either, the valve adjustment is a pain in the ass kinda. If you have a dealer do it it'll be at least a few hundred bucks, figure another 200 to get a rear tire put on, maybe another 150 for the fork seals. You're looking at 600-700 dollars for someone to do the work on it plus the price of the bike. I'd pass. I'm sure there's better bikes for similar money.

Yep, exactly what I did. I walked away from it. We brought it to a mechanic to have him check it out and he told me it's not worth 4000 with all the services that need to be done. I think 3500 for it was fair but he said no so here I am looking again :)

Yeah, 3k-3500 would have been more fair. I looked in your area quick and it looks like stuff is a bit more expensive out there unfortunately.

Yes. bikes in SoCal are a bit more expensive than other areas. I'll probably hit the guy up again next week and see if he'll bite my 3500 offer. I guess I just have to be patient and I'll find one sooner or later.

Superstitious much? I don't live like that but hey it's you're life. I just don't cheat people and good things come to me. I don't believe in superstitions. Never have. You would be better served to spend a bit more money and buy a Creampuff. Very few miles and extra Clean bike. Older bikes with many miles usually come with little issues like you speak of. If you can't fix them yourself, you gotta pay the piper. Happy hunting, I'm in Southern California myself and I know the game well.

Why 05-08 specifically?

Not sure if u are aware but 05-06 is one model, 07-08 is another.
Yes I'm aware and one of the reasons why i put 05-08 is because I like the under tail exhaust set up and I figured it would be right around my budget.

Yeah a lil supertitious. Bikes here in SoCal are a bit expensive than other states so another option for me is to save up a lil more and get better bike or just wait it out til I find a good deal.

I know you said no Black but this is sweet! Unsure how hard it's been ridden, but it has new rearsets and a few other performance bits.

No pics, don't know what color or condition, but price could be good.

Mileage unlisted but one of the better prices I saw. This one is yellow.

A red one (no pics) dropped once in the garage, but price is lower.

Both these are about $5k, but they both look clean and well maintained.

Thanks for the links man. I actually have seen all those postings on CL and have contacted some of them. They're just asking too much for their bikes that's why I haven't pulled the trigger yet.
