Liquid gasket and throttle body sync - 2 questions

About to dive into a valve inspection soon, having done this on my 2006 zx6r I’m not too worried but there are two areas I’m not sure about.

1) Is there a substitute for kawasaki liquid gasket TB1216B - 92104-1064 ? To put the new cylinder cover gasket on its saying add liquid gasket to the half moon shaped areas… will the black “right stuff” work / be compatible with the actual gasket? Weird that this is called for.

2) throttle body synch. Is it required or recommended after a valve lash check, assuming I need to replace shims? (Last time I didn’t replace any shims at 17k miles so I didn’t sync throttle bodies because I didn’t notice any symptoms indicating to do so.

Why does the manual say not to use the tachometer on the bike? Is it just not precise enough? Will any real damage occur if I don’t use an external tach?

This is what I use on the valve cover end plugs...hundreds of times a year--never any leaks.........

If anyone actually looked at the service schedule, throttle body sync is called for every 7500 miles on most bikes out there......
and yes it matters, regardless if you think so or not

If he hasn’t needed any sort of valve adjustment at 17 plus k then his bike’s special and will prob never need sync. That or he has no clue how to measure valve clearance lol

I see that a lot tho. People at 20k saying there’s was spot on. Hell maybe I don’t know how to measure valves then cause I’m doing them all the time at 10 or less.

hah! I noticed that when I looked up the interval this week . Probably would’ve been fine; 15k probably needs something though
Wish the magic, maintenance free bike was a thing.
Im of the mindset to not brute force mechanical things especially when working on engines.

I’ve heard a lot of the newer bikes are going out earlier, so I’m anticipating redoing shims even though no common symptoms of tight valves are noticed.

hardly maintenance free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they have all the same issues and some different issues..........

Like spontaneous combustion
If that’s the trade off I’ll stick to wrenching to keep the fun factor lol
The worse part about having an electric bike is telling your friends you are gay.

Don't worry about it, you've already told them at that point....

That’s why I love building old choppers. I very rarely ride them but I love late nights in the garage just working and fabricating stuff. Especially my garage down here at the park because I’m miles from anyone that can hear me and I’m a 1/4 mile from a locked gate. Just me and the crickets. All I need is a wood stove for the winter nights and the vibe will be perfect lol.

I understand you, I work on my projects in the garage that is about 20 meters behind the house. When I come back from the office, I am a Lawyer in a suit and tie from 8 to 5 pm and a mechanic (in my bikes) from 5 until dinner time, when I finish them and I'm at home for 3 or 4 days, my wife asks me: Don't you have a bike to buy and repair? nothing to do? I feel that. I’ve always felt a sense of pride working on my own stuff…. Doing my forks this winter and a new chain/sprockets was fun. Myself, some music, and my garage.

I really just wanna ride now that the weathers nice; and I bought some new boots this weekend that I’m itching to try. (Smx plus v2). I’m trying to time this service with June/July when it’s 90° and I don’t wanna ride. I’ll ride in 90° but it’s not as fun as the spring and fall temps
