I owned a 96 C9 and a 95 F1, two completely different bikes. The C9 said Ninja 600R on the side, and was the same boxy styled fairings and steel tube frame that they dreamed up all the way back in 88; and it was a slug compared to my F1. The F models looked very similar to the G models as far as fairing shape goes, as well as the E models. As for the D & E models, thats when they were kinda transitioning the 600 into the super sport bike; I could be wrong but I'm fairly certain that the engine got totally redesigned in 95 as well as some chassis modifications, and thats why they tacked the "R" on the end. Maybe it had something to do with the racing classes too, anyone know what the first year of the 600 super sport class was?
I don't know a whole lot about the GPZ line, weren't they kinda the predecessor to the ZX line and they stopped making them in like 85 or so?
I know they still made the GPZ in the early 90's for the 750, not sure about the 600. I had a 1990 Ninja 750R and the service manual had a picture of two bikes, one the Ninja 750R and the other a GPZ 750R... exact same bike.

Don't worry about not knowing something bro your not stupid because you don't know, only stupid if you pretend to know something that you don't. Unlike other sites, this is more like a family. Everyone here is helpful, and your not gonna get bashed for asking something you don't know.
I believe the C6F is just the 636 with the regular paint schemes, and the D6F is the special edition, or titanium edition.
What is the difference between the 3 bikes sorry I am really new to the bike scene.
2009 ZX6R 599cc ZX600R9FL
2009 ZX6R 599cc ZX600R9FA
2009 ZX6R 599cc ZX600R9F
My bike is missing from the list, it's a ZX636A1P. It was the first ZX6R with 636 motor and was produced only at 2002.
Only differences from the J models are the motor and the missing "birdcage" (fortunately) which I don't like at all.
I got a question for you guy. I got an 02 zx6r and I know above it's posted to be a 600cc I also know they made the 636cc the same year. The bike looks the same just bigger engine. So how would I tell what engine is in there with out pulling apart and measuring. I I don't have anyone I ride with that has a 600 to compare to for power wise.
The first five digits of the motor number will either be ZX600 or ZX636. The model designation is also in the VIN, either an A or a J, but I can't remember exactly which digit it is.
They did, the ZX7R, stopped making it in 03 I believe. It was their super bike before they released the ZX10R. This was back when the superbike class in racing was 750 not 1000.
All the big four manufacturers had 750s back then, Suzuki is just the only one who kept producing them.
