Just ordered a new slip-on!

So I saw an older 2009 ZX-6R at the shop today and really liked the slip-on that was on it. It was the Hotbodies MGP and I checked it out and it is available for the 2013-2015! Amazon had it for just $254 on Prime so I ordered it. Should be here Monday, free shipping and from what I can tell should be easy to install.

Anybody have any thoughts on this pipe? I know I should've gone more expensive like the Two Brothers Silver or an Akrapovic but I really like the look of this slip-on and the price was hard to beat!

Also, can I just remove the wires from the stock servo and leave the motor under the seat to keep the FI light happy? Thanks!

I intend to. For how cheap it was I honestly don't have high hopes for quality but the one I saw on the 2009 earlier today looked really good so who knows?

That looks tacky...

Why put this crap on a $5k+ machine??

They make it any color I agree with you about it being tacky. I was thinking of solid color tubing as the can make it any color & any size all I want & with aremovable silencer baffle something cheap I can swap on & off I'm sure I will get tired of a loud pipe so I also want something quite.

I have the MGP and pinebox combo...i like it. That being said...I didnt buy the MGP, it came with the bike. The pinebox makes it sound sooooooo much better. If I was purchasing an exhaust, it would prob be the graves. None the less, it's a good pipe for what its worth.

I specifically didn't want to get rid of my prechamber for looks. Plus, I really don't want a super loud exhaust...
Yes, you can just remove the cables and leave the motor in there without any fi light.
Ihad a growler on my 09 it was loud, but I had a mid pipe made. With the pre chamber it might not be to loud, but it did sound really good. A little raspy, but not bad. The clear coat does get discolored pretty quick though.

The bluing isn't the tacky part, the fact they are trying to pass it off as Akrapovic by just slapping on a sticker is tacky.... And hilarious.

I dunno, I think it actually looks pretty good, especially if the sticker is just a sticker and can be removed. At any rate the Hotbodies MGP seems to be a decent pipe from what I have read, especially for the price. I was all set to get a Two Brothers or a Scorpion but they were both just so much money...

So here are some quick phone pics I took yesterday while breaking in the new pipe:

Think it looks really good on the bike personally! Thinking of maybe painting the pipe a flat black to match the black prechamber cover but not sure yet. Also working on a video for my Youtube channel real soon and will post here...

Really happy with my set up

I went with a Yosh RS-4 on sale last year at Sportbike track gear. I think that's where I got it. Then put on a pinebox designs mid-pipe. got rid of that nasty pre-muffler. I love the sound awesome stuff.

I like your purchase. Looks Clean. You will notice a HUGE!!! change once you get rid of that pre-muffler. For reals!
I was never a fan of that big fat ugly pre-chamber, looks so out of place

I actually like the look of the heat shield with the body work personally (the straight pipes look too empty down there to me). Besides, If I got something like a Pinebox link pipe the thing would be way louder than it is even now (which is already way louder than stock)....

pinebox has the option to keep the heat shield, that way you can keep the "clean" look you are wanting. There are more benefits than just the sound, but yes it does make it louder. IMO the sound is great!

Wow, that's cool! But yeah, the sound is already borderline too loud for my tastes...
