Is it possible to get rid of or change so its not so ugly looking?

I feel my bike looks newer then it is until you see the cage :(

You just need to get the bracket things off the ZZR-600 bike that were made up through (I think) 2008.

EDIT: I think it's this thing here, but don't quote me on that: ZZR600 Fairing Stay

I know it can be done and I think that's the part you need, but you'll want confirmation from another source before going ahead with it, I think

Thanks, what would it be called?

lol - writing past each other there. I edited my original post to include a link to what I think you would need. I think it's just called a "fairing stay"

HAHA Thanks for that I will read in to it and see if its doable with that.
If that's not the piece you need, just do a bit more looking into it. There have been tons of folks on this forum who've done it and plenty more elsewhere on the internet. Your answer is out there, just search for it.

Just a few inspirational pages to look at. There are quite a few more you'll run into if you keep searching. I've learned so much reading through all the build threads and what not. It takes time, but you learn so much.
i got rid of mine years ago hated the bloody thing
Yeah I hate it too. It's the forefront of my mate with an R6s' jokes. I've still got the G front for hopefully one more week, then it's off!
will look nice with the swap over mate, make it look more modern aswell
when your done on this forum yours will munch the r6 and turn more heads
watch when you look for zzr600 parts.
it has to be from 05-08 or you get the E model.

part is called mirror bracket Part#11050

in the 05-08 models it's gonna be a fairing stay or official term BRACKET-COMP,METER&MIRROR STAY, Part#23062.

Don't go for the chinese cast iron cheap stuff. I had 2 of those before i spent the same amount for 1 used oem stay compared to the 2 that broke right at the mirror mount at the slightest stress.
this is an example of a bad one.

I kept the g2 front and put a 2006 zzr600 fairing stay on mine. Took a little custom work to combine the zzr stay and my stock cluster mount, but I think it was def worth it.
