Doesn’t sound bad if it’s been taken care of. I’m about to sell my 2010 CBR600RR with 51K miles for $6000.
I know someone that had an F4I with over 350K miles on it. He ended up low siding and cracked the block but when he opened it up the engine showed no excessive wear on the internals. Most bikes don’t get high mileage on them because they either aren’t ridden much or they get wrecked.

NOBODY IS PAYING 6K for a 14 year old CBR600 with 51,000 miles!!!!!!!! NOBODY

^^^ "KNOW" ^^^^
like you rode with him and knew the bike actually was ridden that many miles???? How many of those miles did you ride with him????????? I call bullshit

I have read the story online a few times and I don't believe it for one minute and it is what.... atleast 7-10 years old now.....

What year F4i and what year did he crack the block via a crash or rod thrown through it?

Didn't the F4 become fuel injected in like 2001 or 2002 and if memory serves I believe it was supposedly a 2004 or 2005

so at most it was ridden 10 years....... AT MOST

As someone who has ridden more than 50,000 miles in a single riding season... I know it takes damn near non stop everyday riding and lots of long distance trips where you do nothing but keep it moving down the road for 12+ hours a day, day after day for months on end

So he averaged atleast 35,000 each and every year................ (doable, sure......... likely---not even remotely unless retired)

8760 hours in a year

lets say he only needs to sleep 7 hours per night <2555 hours>
lets say he only spends 4 hours per day eating, doing chores, laundry, dishes, prep, aquiring said food and other shopping needs, lets say he does his own maintenance and only spends 3 hrs a month on that (likely low) etc..... <1500 hours>
lets say he only works 40 hours per week <2080 hours>

and he does nothing else at all with his life except ride that motorcycle........ (gives him 2625 hours to ride and get fuel about 190 times x 15 minutes per so.......... deduct another 50 hours from the riding portion)

35,000/2575= 13.6 mph (so it is clearly possible........ probable--not at all)

lets say at best he could average even 40mph average speed with the bike running (which according to numerous sources is about 10mph higher than the national average, but that is the speed I averaged those couple years despite mostly travelling at 60+ mph) ....... so that is atleast 600 hours of riding time (that is more than 3.5 months of full time work)

At any rate, I have ridden atleast 5 motorcycles past 100,000 miles and 1 to 256,000 miles and I am meticulous with maintenence!!!!! and don't abuse the shit out of them.......... and all of them needed work, some more than others
the 256,000 bike took me 18 years to do that, granted I had other bikes at the same time that got lots of mileage too.... but I also had been a typical 25,000 mile per year rider sans a handful of years riding over 50k miles when I was going to every race in the country I could possibly go to. but as of the last decade, I have averaged much less between 7,500-12,000 annually and that is 10x or more than 99% of the motorycle riders in my area.

As far as the OP's question..........

Pre scamdemic that was at most a $1,500 motorcycle, at most.......... and that number goes down with any damage and any failure to prove proper maintenance.....ie actual receipts!

Does he have receipts for atleast 2 or 3 valve adjustments?---ie...tune up services
How about atleast 10 or more oil/filter changes and what kind of filter and what oil was used?
What do the tires look like?
What about the chain and sprockets?
the forks and suspension pieces?
the brake pads and rotors?

How many previous owners? If he is the one and only original owner it bodes better!

I have paid sub $1,500 for atleast a dozen ZX6R's (purchased for customers--- as I only buy brand new for myself) and none of them had more than about 11,000 miles on them at the time of purchase, and they all started and ran and shifted through all the gears without issue
Not even one of those bikes saw the road without atleast at minimum $2500 of parts and labor put into them to make them truly safe and reliable to ride with confidence.......
I would fully expect that 42,000 mile sportbike to need the same or more!?!? Bidens america it all costs atleast 25% more, so expect $3k+ in expenditures!

~proper tune up service is about $600 + parts (all fluids and I mean all! and depending on needs, this can easily reach $300 in parts)
~new tires if those are worn out or outdated......... ~ $500-$600 installed depending on what you go with
~Chain and sprocket installed is .......... ~$300-$325 depending on quality and installer
~brakes??? 3 sets of pads with nothing but a proper cleaning of rotors and buttons will still run you $100 in parts and atleast 90 minutes of time to do it properly x shop rate
~steering head bearings, cheap at only $40 in parts, but the labor is atleast 2.5 hours x shop rate
~new fuel filter, as I am sure it has never been changed......... it is not included in anyones $600 tune up package, figure $25 for the correct oe filter and 2 hours of shop rate
~ and there is more......but it depends on the bike and previous maintenance and care and how it was ridden

OP---you didn't post up any pictures or any details......... but BUYER BEWARE!! people are not to be trusted ever!!!!!!!!
Yes, I “know” the person (Jared) with the F4I. Not a close friend but met him several times on meetups we did back in the day. Last time I saw his bike in person was just before he hit 300K.
You seem like a fairly knowledgeable person but maybe you’ve let being the resident ‘expert’ here go to your head a bit.
I have a sale pending for the CBR, I’ll post a pic of the bill of sale once it’s final.
