Does the axle slide in easily without any tire and spacers in the process???

ie, like the forks are even and aligned properly

if yes, then it is a you issue

I know when I work at waist height (ie, on any of my lifts that lift 33" up) so I can stand and see better they are all much easier than when they are on the floor and you are bending over trying to see and align
