I bought a zx6 motor for a project build (it’s the style motor with the centered timing chain) and I am building a custom standalone harness for it. My problem is I have an igniter out of zx6 and is has the 6 pin and 4 pin plugs on it and i can’t seem too find a diagram showing which pins go too what other than the 6 pins run the coils and the 4 pins go too the timing pickup. So if someone has one with a harness that could send me a picture of the wire colors and where they inter the plug or if someone can find a diagram showing which individual pins go too what either one would help out a bunch.

Sounds like a fun project! Do you know what year is the engine? A lot of times I find pictures of used parts on e-bay which can be helpful.

I email Kawasaki and they said it’s out of a 2000 zx6 but I’m finding it was a rare set up because this style motor isn’t very common

Can you post a picture of your connector? Maybe we can find it on a different bike (since they reuse parts) and get the pinout that way?

I found this on 1995-1996, but it is 4 and 8 pins, not 4 and 6...

PS I did find a 4+6, but it's at least a decade older than yours...

It probably has the same pinout of my 4+6 connecter but mine is out of a 92 zx600
