I know the 09-12 and the 13+ airducts are different shapes but that shouldn't matter to much considering their is no ram Airduct. So that bracket you have in the first add will allow you to fasten the tachometer and uppers to the frame.

Not sure on side panels and belly though....

I didn't ask for opinions on how it looks, I asked for help on doing it. My bike doesn't have fairings anyways so I don't lose anything by retrofitting 2013 fairings as I need to dress her up anyway.

I would think that a race fairing would be easier to fit than OEM parts, on a bike that does not have the correct anchor points. One complete skin, rather than many pieces...... less points that have to match perfectly.

This would also make the intake less of a problem, if there is nothing that lines up with it. The headlight areas are filled in, so you can cut out whatever part you need, for whatever lights you choose. Much simpler to line up home made brackets that way.

To me race fairings with improvised headlights look like shit. I'd rather have the fancy looking stock headlights than those round ones.

Someone else in here did it. I just can't remember who. I'll see if I can find it.

You could still mount OEM lights.... Just a lot more work, and probably very difficult to get it right. I've seen tiny projector headlamps mounted below the nose.... That looks okay to me...:O

I can see your problem, you want fairing but are restricted by price and/or availablity.

I think that trying to get a 2013 fairing to fit is going to be a lot of issues and might look like a dogs dinner if you do manage to crowbar it into position, it all depends how good a problem solver you are.

Any 03/04 BH1 or K1 fairing should fit onto the original mounts and look the part, have you still got original headlights and clock mounting on your bike?

You could go down the race fairing road, I have some race fairings if you are interested but the shipping will be a fair chunk of money, the trouble is cutting out the holes for the headlights, it is a tricky job to do and not make it look like complete amateur job.....I would'nt fancy doing it anyway. Race fairings are much thinner than the original and made of fibre glass and a shit to cut cleanly.

If it was my problem, I would be looking at trying to get some original equipment fairing even some scuffed stuff that you could repair. As said before, the 03/04 is a pretty timless design that works really well.

So I guess he's saying my bike is ugly? :O

Well if ya put big ass holes in the fairings maybe.... so just go with little holes.... always little holes! :p

I have an 03-04. Without the stock fairings the headlight cluster will fall off the bike...AT BEST. On this bike you need the FULL fairing, you can't have the front piece only, as the left and right sides hold up the front piece.

converting this bike to a street fighter, you will need to figure out a way to secure the headlights...OR replace them.

...good luck, you have been warned.

No offense PowerGroove, I am not saying your bike is ugly by any means. I just prefer the sharp looking original headlights over the round cuts in the fairings

I don't have the original clock mounting but I actually have the original headlights. The only big problem is that it looks like they are pretty torn apart. They had HID and Angel Eyes but the high intensity transformers don't really seem to work anymore, the angel eyes are missing a few LEDs and the assembly overall is cracked, ripped and scratched. I don't know if I can fix. It may be done but I might need a new HID system.

Mmmmm, you really need the clock mounting, it is that that holds the mirrors on as well, whether you want them or not, it is the mirrors that hold the fairing on too.
A mate of dropped my bike....long story,,,,but the bottom line is I needed to buy a new clock mounting and it was about £80 from a breakers yard.
The headlights bolt into the front fairing.
Not having bought new fairings for a while, I can;t give you a price as a guide, nor can I help much with the lights not working, despite being and electrician, its a different ball game to automotive electrics.
I am beginnng to understand your your option of a newer fairing, it must look like less problems than what you have already but I still think if you can get a BH1 or K1 fairing it will be easier/cheaper and a better finish in the long run.
The race fairing option is as much work to be honest as there is nothing to bolt the headlights to on them either.
I do have a spare nose fairing that is a bit damaged and needs plastic welding if you want to make a good job of it but I am reluctant to sell as I know how rare they are.

I am also on the look for a donor bike to make a second machine from as I am nearly half way towards that option but the prices seem to be going through the roof at the moment. It proves what a good bike they are despite being 15 years old

I have only a part it because some fucking dumbass cut it trying to make a streetfighter clock mounting, rendering the thing useless...the fairing stay is sells at around 80 usd on ebay.

On the other hand, I figured the headlights out, the HID ballasts work, I need new 22mm led "angel eyes" which are optional but I think they look cool, and I also need new bulbs. Then I can start figuring out how to attach them to my bike's wiring harness

Well you are getting there, it's going to be one of those tasks that will be two steps forward and one back till you get it sorted.
Unless you throw a shed load of money at it I suppose, but I am guessing that is not really an option...the same for most of us.
