Long story short, lost my only key somewhere while at work today. I need to get my bike home, and get it running again because it's basically my car. It's a 1999 zx6r and I've already cut the wires leading to ignition. There are 7 of them and I've mates the white,brown, and gray ones, and this makes the bike power on and turn over when starter button is depressed. I also know that the engine is getting fuel because I can smell it in the exhaust. For some reason the motor isn't getting spark, probably some security feature. How do I rig the last 4 wires (blue,red,white/black,orange/green) to get spark? Pm me if you don't want a tutorial on the site for how to do this. Thanks guys.

Ended up finding my key, but for anyone that's curious, or if this subject comes up again, I figured out that there's a 100 ohm resistor in the ignition switch itself, and it's wired between the white and gray wire connection. Without the resistor, there's too much amperage in the circuit, which will prevent the bike from starting. This is a security feature that's designed to make it hard to hotwire and steal the bike. I didn't get a chance to try it myself, but if you were to connect the wires as I described in my first post, but also put a 100 ohm resistor that can be bought at radioshack between the white wire and gray wire, then the bike should start right up.

if you locked the handle bars what about that? You'd still be screwed. Unless there is a way around it, or way to break it in a case of emergency.

Mine don't lock for some reason :doh:
