Hi everyone I’m Nick this is Lilly the Green Goblin. She is a 2003 Kawasaki ninja 636

I’m looking for some advise. This is the first Ninja I’ve owned and today after a chain and sprocket change, on the way back home, I started to get a slip in the clutch about 9k rpm, any ideas on how to stop this ?

If the slack in the clutch lever cable is set correctly, you will more than likely need to inspect the clutch.

Yup, check the clutch lever adjustment first. You need about 1/8" of free play.

Also, if you don't know what kind of oil you have in there, might be best to change that out to motorcycle specific stuff. Many automotive oils have friction modifiers in them that make wet motorcycle clutches slip.

Are you sure it is the clutch slipping and not a problem with the new chain/sprocket change?

Sorted. Thank you I had to loosen the clutch lever to allow some slack....thanks everyone
