I know we have a "post your helmet" thread. But the intent of this thread is to review what you've got. and maybe serve as a real-word buyers guide.

I'll Start.
Icon Alliance.
I paid 170.00
Had it since April 2012.

Pros.
Very few.
It's comfortable I guess.
Good shield locking system.
Easy to disassemble and clean

Cons
LOUD. Good airflow at the expense of noise.
Tons of air moving directly over my ears which I hate.

I basically hate this helmet now. I'm looking at the AGV k-3 next. Hopefully one of you can shed some light on that.

I have the same helmet, same color as pictured. I agree, its loud...but comfortable. All headphones I've tried are useless. And my god, can it "whistle". I just got it a few months ago and already want a new one. But, since it works, its last on the list, I got other goodies that take precedence.

I also have the same helmet, hate the shield lock system, it's a pain to lift up when your riding, atleast for me. I get some whistle because I don't lock the shield. It is loud, can get annoying but can live with it. Hoping to upgrade to something better probable over the winter.

I purchased this helmet. Fucking hate it. Will never buy scorpion again. Super noisy and my visor doesnt even latch. It always has a tiny little gap in it. Dont know if I just got a bad one or what but will never go with them again.
I spend more time messing with the visor. Many times when I look back it pops up a bit. Super annoying.

Used to have the Icon Alliance actually but ruined it when I laid my bike down. That helmet was pretty comfy but some noise like the comments above.

Same lid I've got, only in matte black. Never had any issues with the visor. Fairly loud, but it's the first full face helmet I've had so really don't know how it compares to others.
Are you sure both pegs on the visor are under the scalloped piece where it attaches? The only time I had any trouble was when one of them wasn't seated where it's supposed to be.

Yea, I have messed around with it a bunch. Only way I can get it to stay down is if I grab the top of the visor with both hands and the chin area of the helmet with my thumb and squeeze them together lol. Such a pain. Its the third helmet I have owned and like I said probably just got a bad one but kind of pushed me away from scorpion helmets..

Too bad you got a crappy one. Have you tried different visors to see if it's just the visor that's bad?

nah, really dont feel like wasting the $45. Even if that were to fix it. Dont want to be out the cash if it doesnt do anything. So I will just keep it as a back-up/passenger helmet and upgrade this winter.

The 400 is kinda on the cheap end for Scorpion anyway. I have the 500 and its very very solidly built and everything works really well.

^ HJC FS-10. This is the oldest helmet that I own. It is a decent lid, fit fairly well at first but now a little loose due to years of wearing it. A decent amount of wind noise and in certain wind conditions and speed air flows up through the breath guard/nose piece and into my eyes which gets really annoying on long rides and dries out my eyes. Shield lock is good but shield movement is a little clunky compared to more expensive helmets. The shell is larger than my more expensive helmets and heavier, but the helmet also has an integrated sun shield that flips down. Cool idea, but in reality I never really use it and it would be nicer if the shade went down lower.

^ Bell Star RSD C-Note. The next helmet I owned that I purchased mainly with the intent of track use. I was very impressed with this helmet at first, the build quality and attention to detail was amazing with exception of the face shield which was defective out of the box, but quickly replaced free of charge by Bell. It came with 2 sets of cheek pads for best fit, and the inner lining material was extremely comfortable and high quality. I thought it fit well, but upon riding at higher speeds I noticed the helmet pushed back on my face more than it should which was very annoying to me as my nose would touch the front of the helmet. It was very stable at speeds, even when tilting head and flowed a TON of air. However, it was also the loudest helmet I have ever ridden with because of the air flow and design. I loved the idea of the helmet, but it just didn't fit my head type correctly, but I may purchase an RS-1 in the future which fits my head better. I ended up selling it immediately after I purchased my Suomy to one of the members on this forum. Paint on this helmet is amazing as well and sparkles like crazy in the sunlight.

^ Suomy Excel Max Biaggi Replica. This is my current helmet that I use for most of my riding and it is amazing. The only down side to it at all, is that shield changing isn't very quick, but once you get the hang of it, it isn't bad at all. This lid is extremely light, and the shell is small which I really like. The visors are very unique and amazing quality, and the paint on this helmet is phenomenal, pics really do not do it justice. I get complimented on it all the time. The inner lining material is very plush and the helmet fits my head absolutely perfectly. It is an expensive helmet, but way worth the investment, as I feel very confident with it on. Best helmet i have ever owned and I would buy another in a heart beat if/when I ever need to.

Oldest to newest of my current lids. Here's my take on them.

Shoei RF-1100

Pros: This helmet is lightweight and breaths very well with all the vents open. It cuts through the air pretty well. Very comfortable. Sheild is very easy to remove and replace in a hurry. It's a Shoei... :)

Cons: I've had a little bit of wind buffeting at high speeds with it. Especially when turned to look over my shoulder at a blind spot or something. It can get noisy. Not too bad but still a little loud at high speeds or high wind.

Opinion: I really like this helmet. I also like the locking shield. It's a Shoei... I've never owned one I didn't like. It has served me well and continues to do so as a backup lid. I'd definitely buy another one.

Shark RSi

Pros: Killer looks and profile. It's got a very aggresive styling to it. Breaks through wind really nicely at high speeds and while turning the head. Very comfortable. Light weight (Same exact weight as the Shoei RF-1100). Lots of room for headphones. :D

Cons: Limited sight... it's got a thinner gap from forehead to chin bar so you lose a little sight line. Really have to trun the head to see over the shoulder too. The shield has no locking mechanism and mine seems to have a loose fit to the sheild has flipped up when doing a lane check more than once. It doesn't breathe all that well. The vents are small and it just doesn't move air. It's gotten louder.

Opinion: I like it for the styling... but I might consider an upgrade to this line from Shark. Or maybe even another brand. If I saw a good deal on one like I did this one. I'd probably buy another... but would have to be a great deal.

AGV XR2

Pros: Fits awesome! Looks great. Tear offs are nice. Breathes very well. Plush material inside. Very comfortable. Light weight

Cons: Sometimes I'll get a burst of wind up through the bottom. Kinda weird... only has happened on the track though.

Opinion: Would totally buy another one. Excellent quality for the price. Paint is very nice.

I'll play... HJC RPS-10

Pros:

-Pretty cool looks
-EXTREMELY light, you won't even notice it on your head after a while
-MotoGP helmet (Ben Spies)
-Pinlock and Tear-off capable
-Really nice locking shield mechanism
-Easy peasy shield changing
-One of the only lids that fits my melon well
-Relatively inexpensive to others in its category
-Cuts through wind really well

Cons:

-Shield will fog like a MOTHER if you don't use the pinlock
-Having pinlock in restricts vertical view
-Venting only really works in a tuck
-Adjustable vent wheels are excessive
-Strap feels a little cheap
-Padding may not be as plush as other premium brands
-No locked "cracked open" position or otherwise
-Locking mechanism takes a little getting used to, but it's worth it

Love my helmet though. If anyone knows of another lid that fits your head the same as this one let me know. Only others I've heard of are maybe some Shark models or the Bell Star? :O

I have a Arai Profile. Hands down the best helmet I've ever owned.

Pro's

Fantastic ventalation
Relatively quiet
Unbelievable comfy
A quality helmet
Deployable chin foil that works
Con's

Always feels like I'm going to break it when I change shields out.
A little on the heavy side.

Suomy Spec 1R Gedea replica.

Pro's
very, very light
Looks, its the flashyest helmet I've ever had
It is comfy but not a comfy as my Arai

Con's

A bit on the loud side
Shield removal
Good air flow but you can only control the front vent.

I also have a HJC CL-15 in black. I would not care if it fell fifty stories and exploded. I have nothing nice to say about it.
